Hi! I’m Lucia, originally from Slovakia, exploring Canada on a Working Holiday Visa to see if I could make this country my new home…I spent the summer hugged by the mountains of Revelstoke and now ready to reconnect with the coast. 🌊

UPDATE: After an amazing month exploring, I am now back in Revelstoke, where I'll be working for the winter season. I'm open to discussing exchanges from spring onwards so please do reach out if you think we'd be a good match. :)

I thrive in vibrant seaside & riverside locations rich in culture and natural beauty. I love discovering new places through local people and everyday life, soaking up the language and culture. I’ve travelled extensively and enjoy learning from others about how to live a wholesome life, create meaningful communities and beautiful relationships, and live with purpose.

I’m looking for a cultural exchange where I can be helpful, meet interesting people and experience British Columbia and the surrounding areas in their most authentic form.

* General help with running a guesthouse, B&B, Airbnb or similar accommodation

* Currently helping a couple on Bowen Island with housework, gardening, admin, garage clean up and organising the house;
* Spent the summer working at a motel in Revelstoke, BC, welcoming guests, handling bookings, solving problems and making people feel at home, as well as helping with laundry and improving communication flows and internal procedures;
* I’m a proud bunny mum to my sweet lop Charlie 🐰 (currently being spoilt back home by my parents). I’ve also lived with dogs and cats and pet-sat cats and turtles;
* I’ve always been hands-on around the house and garden, not afraid to get my hands dirty or help with a DIY project. I also very much enjoy arts and crafts!
* I grew up with two younger siblings and have been told I am naturally good with children, also worked as a live-in au-pair;
* 11+ years of international e-commerce experience;
* Proficient with websites, online platforms and a variety of systems and tools;
* Qualified yoga teacher & trained in craniosacral therapy;
* Speak English, Slovak, Czech & some French + un poquito de español;
* Lived, studied and worked in several countries across Europe and Asia.

* Yoga (vinyasa, acro, yin), aerial hammock, wellness & holistic healing;
* Dancing (salsa, bachata, heels, ecstatic), swimming, cycling & hiking;
* Food, cooking & baking for my friends and family and inventing new little twists on recipes;
* Being creative, crafting, taking pictures;
* Spending time with children and being in awe with their amazing minds and personalities;
* Music, galleries, theatre, photography;
* Learning about cultures and languages;
* Psychology and the body-mind connection;
* Meeting people from different backgrounds, learning from them & discovering new places and experiences!

I’m reliable, tidy, conscientious and independent, while also sociable and curious. Happy to share a meal, a conversation, a walk or an experience. I’d love to find an exchange where I can genuinely contribute, learn and make a difference, while also having some time to explore the surroundings and get to know the local community.

- Hospitality: Currently working at a motel in Revelstoke, BC, welcoming guests, handling bookings, solving problems and making people feel at home, as well as helping with laundry. I've also worked in bars, restaurants and cafes helping me learn about customer service and making delicious drinks.
