Currently in Philadelphia, I'm looking to plan extended travel starting early in 2026. Interests are farming, community-building, meditation, yoga, natural building, global feminism, & nightlife!

Description

Hi there! For the last 10 years I have been hard at work building a well-respected nonprofit organization in Philadelphia, PA, USA focused on environmental & social justice issues, and I'm now looking to plan extended travel in 2026 as I reflect on all I've learned and vision the next phase of my life. While I travel I hope to spend time writing about my work, experiencing beautiful places & people, and growing my skills in gardening, construction, and more.

More about me: I'm a 34-year-old eldest daughter, Sagittarius, and can make friends with almost anyone. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology & Anthropology, so I appreciate and respect culture and history great deal. Places I've traveled include Costa Rica, Samoa, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Cuba, France, & England. Many of those places I stayed with families/friends or in hostels, so I'm a conscientious guest and community member. I love playing sports (soccer/football is my favorite), games of any kind, and I have a good time just about any which way: enjoying nature, sharing a good meal & conversation, or a night out dancing.

I'm a bubbly and outgoing person, but I have a spiritual soul and rich internal life. I enjoy time alone as much as I do time with others, and I need them both to function! Some of my interests include astrology, wellness topics like lymphatic drainage & natural skincare, and

I'm willing and excited to help out with almost any project. I've got great social skills, great with children, strong organizational skills, good at developing efficient systems, starting new initiatives, basic gardening skills, and digital skills (social media, video, photo, writing). I am a creative person and can lend a hand with art projects like painting o decorating. I have learning goals around permaculture, bioconstruction, and other self-sufficiency skills because I hope to acquire land in the U.S. or abroad that I can live on with less reliance on the capitalist economy. I believe the world's circumstances require this, and that kind of environment is where I would want to grow old community :)

I love that the Workaway network exists, as I believe so much of the world's goodness is facilitated this way: people taking a leap of faith, extending initial trust until we can build more, collaborating, building new social networks, and just coexisting. Quelles sont vos compétences ?

After building a nonprofit organization from scratch, I have strong project management skills and am fantastic at working with other people in just about any formation you can think of (ie working with youth & seniors, supervising others, supporting teams). I solve problems well and have overall competencies when it comes to being efficient and completing tasks.

I have some basic skills in areas of gardening/farming and sewing/mending. I have some background in photography, videography, writing, and social media, and would be happy to contribute those to any project. I am grateful for my overall positive attitude, focused work ethic, and capacity to learn quickly.

I know how to drive, work a computer, and am a pretty strong manual laborer. I enjoy helping with food preparation more than I do cooking, and have worked in several restaurants. I have an athletic background and could offer some fitness tips or lessons. I have a strong interest in health and know some things I could teach about lymphatic drainage and natural skincare. I used to be a peer counseling teacher so also have skills around deep listening and emotional healing in community.

I am very happy-go-lucky, or in other words there's not much I do not like to do, play, or talk about. I like playing cards and sports; I enjoy looking at the sky; I appreciate learning from all people and sharing what I know.
