Hey, I’m Leonie!
I am 24 years old and from Germany, where I grew up in a small village near Hamburg. I'm currently studying to become a primary school teacher and want to make the most of my time during semester break to travel, meet other people and learn about their cultures and passions. As one of my subjects in university is English, I'm especially excited to improve my language skills and use them in everyday life! Other than that, I don't have anything specific I'd like to learn, but I really enjoy discovering new things from people who are passionate about what they do!

In my free time I enjoy meeting up with friends, reading, going on long walks with my dog and spending time at the stable. Animals, especially horses, have always been a big part of my life, so I’d love the opportunity to be around them during my Workaway stay. That said, it’s definitely not a requirement. As long as I’m surrounded by nature, I’m happy! I’ll be able to get my hand dirty and adapt to new situations and challenges quickly :)

Overall I would describe myself as an open-minded, optimistic and easy-going person with lots of enthusiasm for learning new things/ skills. At the same time being reliable and responsible is super important to me!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm generally happy to help wherever I'm needed and can confidently say that I'll always try my best! I enjoy working as part of a team, but I'm just as comfortable working independently once I've learned a task.

I've already done some Workaway stays (due to a technical issue, the reviews aren't visible on my profile yet, but I'm working on it! ). During those stays, I had the opportunity to help with multiple projects. Together, we built a riding arena, cleared and maintained pastures (which you can see in my photos! ) and constructed a wall. These were all team projects, and while I certainly couldn't have done any of those things on my own, I felt confident contributing once I knew what needed to be done! Alongside these projects, I also helped with reocurring tasks such as gardening, mucking out horse stalls, organizing sheds, painting fences, cleaning chicken coops and other maintenance work. As long as I have some instructions, I enjoy practical tasks and don't mind getting dirty :)
I grew up around horses and dogs, so being with animals has always been a big part of my life. I love spending time with them, feel confident taking care of them and I'm always happy to learn new skills :)

So far I have been working at different primary schools and feel comfortable working with children! I'm training to become a primary school teacher right now :)
