Hello dear workawayers! I am currently traveling with my best friend Laura in South America for some months! We are both really hyped to meet new people and spend a great time together. I'm Laura (Austrian), based in Graz, in the southern part of Austria, where I'm studying translation studies with German, Italian and Spanish. When I first moved abroad to Prato (Italy) three years ago, I had no clue of Italian, my love of languages and the joy of traveling with meeting new people and diving into new cultures. Since then a lot changed, I had the best 5 months together with the best guest family, with whom I found my second home abroad. When I travel I always want to have an authentic experience and be as local as possible, for this reason I choose also workaway. I love to learn new skills and find my way to adapt myself to foreign manners. Apart from that I love to socialize, go on adventures like hikes, bike trips, camping in the nature, city trips etc.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I already worked in the field of childcare a lot, lived together with a guest family and took care of two wonderful children (girl 10 years, boy 3 years). Besides that I worked twice in a preschool, where I got to learn how to communicate and take care of children at different ages.

Besides university I had/have several jobs:

I worked as a waitress for almost three years and as a receptionist for 5 months. My parents also have a restaurant where I helped out as a waitress and a cook, since I was a child. I learned how I have to comport myself in front of a client and treat them in a professional and friendly way. I really loved being a receptionist because I could improve and use my languages everyday and meet a lot of new people. I got used to hard working hours and stress as well.

I worked also as a food deliverer, so I am used to ride bikes for a long period of time as well. I love being in the nature and outside, for this reason I really loved this job!

My actual job besides university is giving lectures to students (until they finish their high school) with the languages German, English, Italian and Spanish! I loved to share my knowledge to the people and encouraged them a lot to get better. I also improved my languages with always a pretty tough start, so I can be really empathic with my students. It's a perfect job to combine my passions.
