Hi, I'm Laura! Nice to meet you:)

Here's a quick introduction of myself and why I want to workaway:

I am 24 years old, from Trier in Germany and just finished my studies in Psychology. I am an adventurous person, but not in the adrenaline kick kind of way. Instead, I love to immerse myself in the unknown—exploring new places, learning new languages, and discovering how far I can push or expand my limits, while also enjoying the calm. What brings me the greatest joy is connecting with people: sharing conversations and laughter, helping each other out, and learning about different cultures. These experiences have been the most rewarding parts of my travels and time spent in new places.

This is why I am so excited to join a Workaway project. I want to do something meaningful, while getting to know the country and its people. I’m eager to contribute through my work while learning new skills, such as practical handiwork . Besides that I would love to learn some surfing and explore the nature, since I am a really nature connected person (also a big animal friend!). I'd love to learn about Sri Lankas biodiversity and spend as much time as possible outsides. In my freetime I love to do sports such as yoga, running or acrobatics and to be creative in all kinds of ways, like design, drawing, painting or photography.

Curious, calm, outgoing, creative, fun and adventurous. Thats a very short sumup of myself!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a creative thinker and good I am at organizing, fairly good at photography, making designs, I can paint walls like a pro, I always have good ideas about interior design and I can do cool social media posts or think of concepts to portray the vibe of a place in the internet/social media.
As a psychologist I also have good communication skills and love working in a team:)
When it comes to handiwork I am willing to learn and I'd say I am somewhat talented. So far I have done smalls things like painting the walls in the places I lived and living in a really old house at the moment has taught me how to fix a sink, rebuild a kitchen, make wooden floors shine again and put up lamps. I would be happy to learn more!
