Description

I’m Lara, I’m from Germany and I just finished my degree. Now I’m excited to start my Workaway journey! I want to explore new places, learn new skills and meet inspiring people and their stories along the way.

I grew up on a farm and would love to reconnect with this feeling of living close to nature — but in a sustainable way. I care deeply about the environment and enjoy spending time outdoors, especially hiking.

People often describe me as open-minded, adaptable and curious. I love discovering new perspectives and I’m always ready to help where I can. I’m very interested in sustainability, community projects and everything that brings people together in a meaningful way.

I’m looking forward to learning from my hosts, sharing stories, and hopefully giving something back at the same time.

My native language is German, so I’d be happy to help others learn or practice it. I speak English confidently and want to improve even more while traveling. Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I studied social work and worked in a gardening project for people with mental health issues during my studies, so I’m good with people and enjoy community work. I also have some experience pet sitting — mostly cats, but I’m comfortable with dogs and chickens too, as I grew up on a farm. While I didn’t pick up every farm skill, basic agriculture and taking care of animals aren’t new to me. I've managed to grow tomatoes and strawberries this year.

I like to cook and people say I’m pretty good at it. I enjoy spending time with kids and they usually like me back!

I speak solid English and German is my native language, so I’d be happy to help teach it. I have a driver’s license and love biking around new places.

I also enjoy creative things: I play a bit of ukulele, I like painting and writing. I’m handy enough to fix small things and use tools when needed.

I’m always open to learn something new and to share what I know!
