Hi! My name is Kia, I’m a 20-year-old girl (turning 21 on July 8th!) and I live in Italy, near Milan, in a small town called Novate Milanese.

I’ve been playing volleyball and practicing different sports since I was a child, and I’m currently playing in Serie C. One of the main reasons I’ve kept going all these years is the strong bond with my teammates—many of them have become close friends even outside the gym.
I’m preparing to study Natural Sciences at university, and I would love to work with animals in the future, especially marine life. I’ve always been an adventurous person: I often go hiking in the mountains and visit refuges with my friends and family.
Over the past year, I’ve been trying to discover more about myself by experimenting with new activities, like playing the harmonica :) and doing Workaway seems to me like a great opportunity to understand more about myself.
I’ve always loved traveling, and since turning 18 I’ve also started traveling alone. What drives me most is the desire to find beauty and wonder in every place I visit, along with my curiosity about different cultures.
I’m an energetic, open-minded and positive person, always ready to learn, help, and get involved in new experiences!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have two younger brothers, and I’ve always taken care of them. Now that my two little cousins have been born, I also help look after them. This has made me a very responsible person and has taught me a lot of patience :)
I really enjoy hands-on activities and DIY projects—for example, I made a shell frame as a Christmas gift for my boyfriend. For a while, I also experimented with ceramics, creating a mug and a beautiful catch-all tray.
For the past two years, I’ve been working in a pastry shop as a sales assistant, but I’ve also started trying my hand at baking by making cakes at home for my friends’ birthdays. I often cut my own hair and, when needed, I do it for my friends too!
I’m a great shoulder to cry on—I’m very empathetic and sensitive, and I tend to get emotional easily because I deeply connect with the world around me

I really enjoy team sports and staying active with my friends. I also love Disney cartoons—especially the songs (I even have a whole playlist dedicated to them!).
My favorite movie genres are thrillers and crime films. My ideal afternoon is lying in the sun on a blanket in a mountain meadow (but the seaside works just as well!). I also love exploring local markets to find unique and vintage clothes.
