Hi there,
we’re arsa & chenbin – international and multicultural nomadic couple who have been living and traveling across different countries for the past decade.

arsa is a cultural anthropologist and art historian with a strong creative side. she is a passionate polyglot speaking eight languages and enjoys connecting with people across cultures, as well as creating art, murals and writing her blogs.

chenbin used to be a filmmaker before his early retirement: editing, special efx, color grading etc. he also enjoys cooking and always cook traditional chinese dishes for our hosts throughout our stays.

after the pandemic we chose to dedicate more time to immersive travel, volunteering, and workaway. we switched to freelance, remote projects online and since 2022 try to spend at least a month in each country, covering one/two regions every year. learning from local communities and contributing and sharing our knowledge and expertise wherever we can. slowly and mindfully.

we are new on workaway but we have been volunteering for a long time. we are experienced dealing with daily chores for farms or houses like animal caring, wood chopping, cleaning, painting, and baby-dog-cat sitting.

we are also long-time and active couchsurfing members (arsa is nomadic ambassador and chenbin is legendary host with 60 guests received in beijing). we feel very comfortable in alternative, community-based environments. we love nature, simplicity, sustainable living and meaningful exchanges beyond typical tourism. we are passionate animal lovers with experience in pet care and are happy to help with pet sitting.

we can contribute through hands-on help, creative work (murals, social media, blogging and developing marketing strategies), and general support in daily tasks. we also share a love for tea culture and enjoy connecting with people over simple rituals like cooking, morning walking, yoga, hiking, meditation, flowers and meaningful conversations. :)

we are flexible, hands-on, and happy to adapt to the needs of each project. over time, we’ve gathered a mix of practical, creative, and social skills:

creative work: arsa creates murals and artwork, and we can support with creative projects, decoration, and improving spaces.

gardening & outdoor work: experience with basic gardening, taking care of plants and trees, watering, weeding, harvesting, and general outdoor maintenance. we also enjoy physical tasks like cutting wood and helping with land work.

animal care: passionate animal lovers with experience caring for various pets. we are attentive, responsible, and happy to help with feeding, cleaning, and general care.

smm, photography & videography: we can help with social media management, creating content, storytelling, and documenting your project through photos. chenbin has a background in videography, and together we enjoy capturing authentic moments.

teaching & communication: arsa’s background as primary school teacher and language skills (8 languages) make her comfortable in teaching, cultural exchange, and working with people from different ages and backgrounds. chenbin also enjoys sharing knowledge and learning along the way.

technical skills: chenbin has a background in it and can assist with basic tech support and digital tasks.

community living: as long-time couchsurfing members, we are used to shared living, respectful communication, and contributing to a positive atmosphere.

in general, we are curious, reliable, and motivated to learn new skills while contributing meaningfully to your project.
