Hello, my name is Kayla. I am 29 years old from Canada. I just completed a permaculture design certificate in Perth, Western Australia && I'm looking for more opportunities for practical experience.

Description

I’ve been travelling since January 2024 and am currently seeking calm, well-structured land-based placements.

I recently completed a Permaculture Design Certificate in Perth (WA) and have spent the past two winters volunteering with Activate; a tree planting organization in Western Australia supporting regeneration projects. While in New Zealand I’m especially interested in learning about perennial food systems, water systems, bee keeping, mushrooms, bush food, and native medicinal plants.

I’m finishing my Sociology degree (online) and need a few quiet hours each day for study. Wi-Fi isn’t essential — I’m happy to use my own data.

I’m an independent, project-oriented worker who does best with clear tasks and a defined rhythm. I have four years of professional experience in animal welfare and have been pet-sitting for five years — I’m comfortable and attentive around animals.

Alongside land work, I’m building skills for a heart-centred practice. I’ve completed a 300-hour hypnotherapy and yoga teacher training in Thailand, have facilitated sharing circles for the past year, and have read tarot for six years. When aligned, I’m open to exchanging these offerings for accommodation or meals.

I value quiet, respect for personal space, and simple daily rhythms, and I work best in environments where systems are already in place and autonomy is respected.
