Hello There, We are Kelin and Makenzie and we are semi newly weds (October 2024) who are looking for a learning opportunity! We are both hard workers, plenty adventurous, and love to travel. We enjoy hiking, playing guitar and singing, reading the bible, time with friends/family and cooking a good meal together. We have a dream of owning property, raising animals/tending to soil and hosting others. We want to learn what its really like to do these things in cultures outside our own (USA). We are currently on a late gap/too early retirement year for the last year of our 20s. We kicked off our year abroad last fall with a few months in the Swiss Alps at a place called L'Abri, and will be heading to Japan and New Zealand next, with some stops along the way.

Hello there. I am a young lad always on the hunt for a unique experience. A few of things I try to occupy my free time with are playing music, snowboarding, camping, diving, Home-brewing beer, and motorcycle rides. I enjoy lots of outdoor/hands on activities and want to try new things while meeting interesting people. I have been fortunate enough to have traveled to 12 countries other than my own through Mission/volunteer trips and just general travel trips. Originally I am from the greater Sacramento area in California, USA.

Hi! I am a lover of morning coffee, reading, singing and playing my guitar, quality time with family and friends, happy to have time in solitude as well, being physically active, cooking healthy from-scratch meals and any opportunity to enjoy being outside. I deeply value gathering around the table to share a meal with others, hearing one another's stories/experiences and life values. I am particularly passionate about rhythms of life that deepen my relationship with Jesus. I have desire to learn more about sustainable tending of soil, permaculture, growing food and animal husbandry. I am from the small town of Jackson, California USA and glad to have been surrounded by beautiful farmland with opportunities to learn all that goes into caring for horses from a young age. I hope to build upon the skills I have with riding and caring for horses and learn new skills in caring for other livestock, soil, gardens, etc. through Workaway! Thank you for your consideration in hosting Kelin and I.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Kelin has worked as a commercial diver for the past 3 years and before that, for a Tile Roof Repair company for the previous 3 years. Therefore, he can work with most common power tools and hand tools used in various trades. Kelin also has experience with operating forklifts and tractors. To top it off, he has a strong working back that can help with manual labor.

Makenzie:
- 2 years Coffee Roasting and Production Manager (2023-2025)
- 1 year volunteer for Equine Therapeutic Riding Center (specifically responsible for Horse handling and care and leading horses in lessons) (2025)
- Intro to Soils class (spring 2025)
- 1 year working for non-profit with at risk youth and aged out foster young adults (2022-2023)
- 3 years Worship/Music Director at a non-denominational church (2020-2023)
- 8 years Barista, Hospitality, Cafe Management (2016-2024)
- Bachelors of Arts in Leadership (Graduated 2020)
- Certified Spiritual Director (Graduated 2023)
- Certified Yoga Instructor (Graduated 2017)
