Description

My name is Kaitie, I'm 30 years old and originally from the east coast of the US. I've moved around the states working in forestry, natural resources, and environmental education and spent the last 7 years in Oregon. I LOVE being outside hiking, camping, learning about plants, and connecting with other outdoorsy folks. I've just moved to Australia for this next chapter of my life, and I'm so excited to explore the area and get to know people. I am community focused, love story telling, and am really looking to establish myself somewhere around good people. I've worked in the past as a field technician in all types of wilderness settings, as a park ranger and environmental educator, and as a natural area restoration event leader and find that I really gravitate to spaces where people come out to enjoy the outdoors together. I'm very happy in a bustling home environment, or with time alone.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have lots of professional experience working with people, animals and plants.

I spent the first portion of my natural resources career doing outdoor field work and labor and I'm skilled in use of hand tools and power tools, basic carpentry, planting, weed removal, pruning, gardening and landscape design. I'm very skilled in plant identification, and also experienced working with wildlife for data collection and stock animals.

I also worked as an interpretive park ranger, educator, and event planner and very skilled in public speaking, community event organizing, project management, and conflict resolution. I'm trained and experienced working with youth and love working with people! I've worked in and outside classrooms with youth aged 5-18, as well as college students and young professionals throughout professional development.

I'm eager to learn any new skills and a fast learner!

I love crossword puzzles and word games especially, but am always ready for a board game. I dabble in many musical instruments, and am traveling with my harmonica. I love live music, and am a western swing dancer (think honky tonks & cowboy boots!) back in the states.
