  • Description

    Hi there! :)

My name is Juliette, I'm a 23-year-old soul seeking direction, purpose, and a chance to explore the world. In all honesty, my life has been a roller coaster lately, and I feel now more than ever the need to take a step back, reconnect with myself and open myself up to new experiences and perspectives. Being on a transformative journey, I am planning on culminating the year with a semester in Central America where I wish to immerse myself in nature, learn about mindfulness and ancient herbal medicine, and most importantly, meet and be inspired by beautiful souls.

Travelling has always played a huge part in my life. My parents being absolute globe trotters, I am immensely blessed to have had the chance to explore many different countries as a child. When I was 18, I went solo backpacking in Australia and South-East Asia where I spent most of my time volunteering, gaining some experience in sustainable living, permaculture, cooking and mindfulness. From what I've lived, travelling means a more intense way of living. It means leaving your comfort zone to get to know and be inspired by people from other worlds, learning about different topics, living the exchange, getting inspired, shifting perspectives, seeing different landscapes and being fully immersed in the beauty and power of nature... While it can be sometimes challenging, you always end up learning a lot about yourself and the world around you by finding yourself in unexpected situations, and in all honesty, I'm really craving this right now :)

After an intense period at University studying molecular biology and learning about the human body, I am more than ready for a new experience on the road. I'm especially interested in sustainable living, permaculture, nutrition, and every creative activity, as well as learning about mindfulness and ancient plant medicine. But in all honesty, I'm open to any experience and knowledge that comes along the way (especially if animals are involved)! :)

I'm a very open-minded, kind-hearted, lively person who is always on the lookout for new adventures. In my free time, I enjoy cooking nice meals, spending time in nature and with animals, reading about topics surrounding mindfulness and the mind-body connection, as well as simply spending some quality time with my loved ones.

Feeling currently lost in life, I am yearning for a deeper understanding of myself and the world around me. Thus, I believe immersing myself in a completely new environment, learning about different topics, and mastering new skills is what I need to reconnect with my true purpose.

I am beyond excited to get to know you and share a little piece of our journeys together :)

Being born and raised in Brussels from a French-italian family, I was always exposed to many languages. I also went to school in Dutch. I'd love to increase my knowledge of Italian and Spanish, but I'm generally interested in all languages!

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm a native French speaker, but went to school in Dutch. Besides being bilingual, I spent 6 months in Australia where I studied the CPE, as a result of which I speak English fluently too!

I worked as a barista in a little café in Sydney for 4 months where I learned the basics of coffee making as well as preparing healthy breakfasts and lunches! My daily tasks consisted of preparing coffee and other hot beverages as well as wholesome meals, serving customers, handling the cash register, cleaning the kitchen and tables, etc etc! This job also gave me the opportunity to get to know new people from different cultures, interact with customers in a friendly and welcoming manner and work in a fast-paced environment, all while being surrounded by friendly co-workers! :)

Back home, I was a leader of a scouts movement of children aged from 8 to 12 years old, which I absolutely enjoyed! Kids are so cool and their energy and imagination just fascinates me! Together with the other members of the staff, I organised fun educational activities and taught them how to live in society and respect our planet, as well as being resilient and living independently. Being part of the animators, I learned how to work in a team and cope with difficult situations and emergencies.

As mentioned before, I'm also an absolute animal lover. I have two cats back home (my babies) and my mom is also a host family for rescued street cats! I always wanted a dog, but unfortunately the busy schedule and city life wasn't appropriate for adopting a little doggie :(

Being a kid, I've always been very creative. I went to art school and drew/painted a lot whenever I could. Growing up, I gradually stopped doing all of this, but believe me I still am a creative junkie and now that I have more time, I really want to develop my inner artist more and more :) I love music too and play piano since I'm 6 years old.

During my gap year in 2018, I volunteered in South-East Asia where I worked as a dog caretaker in an animal rescue centre in Thailand. I also spent a month on an organic farm near Chiang Mai, where I learned to live in harmony with nature by living outdoors, cultivating plants, cooking homemade meals, and practicing mindfulness on a daily basis.
