Hi! :) My name is Juli. I'm originally from the Czech Republic and have just graduated from the University of Amsterdam, where I specialized in Clinical Psychology. Over the next year, I'll be hopefully doing some clinical internships before continuing with a master's degree, with the goal of becoming a clinical psychologist.
During my last semester, I studied abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico, which has definitely sparked my love for Spanish and salsa dancing. I'm currently taking some time to travel, visit friends and family, and hopefully spend a bigger chunk of time in Colombia to learn and contribute to meaningful projects through Workaway as well as other cultural exchanges.
Having lived in several countries and travelled quite a bit, I've become very adaptable and enjoy learning from new environments and people. I learn quickly, am happy to step outside my comfort zone, and genuinely enjoy being part of a community. Whether it's helping with day-to-day tasks, working with children, assisting with creative projects, or simply lending a hand wherever needed, I always try to approach things with an open mind and a positive attitude.
Outside of psychology, I'm passionate about music and creativity. I mainly play guitar, a bit of piano, and occasionally try to write songs. Although it's a learning process. I also have a background in contemporary dance, which I trained in and overall love moving my body. to any kind of music. Although knee injuries meant I couldn't continue with dance professionally, dancing is still a big part of my life. I love staying active, working out, hiking, and spending as much time outdoors as possible.
I also enjoy photography and photo editing, and I have some past experience with graphic design, including creating logos, posters, and social media graphics. I've helped with setting up social media, photography content alongside logo and poster designs for NGOs.
For me, workaway is an opportunity to immerse myself in different cultures, meet a variety of people, contribute wherever I can, and learn from experiences. I hope to leave every place having made a positive contribution while taking home new perspectives.

I'm a semi-native English speaker (I grew up with English speaking family around me) so I'm definitely happy to teach English. I have also taught English to kids in the past as an independent English teacher. I'm currently learning Spanish and would absolutely love to improve my speaking skills!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Table bussing in New Mexico was my job for the summer so I have some experience in that. I'm also able to do cleaning, babysitting...
Currently I teach two small kids English and also work in the news as an assistant.
I play the piano and guitar for a few years and also do dancing for some time now. Yeah I do really like music.
Otherwise I like to cook heatlhy food (that is I think quite good) since I'm a vegeterian and a bit of a nutrition geek. But as cooking is fun, baking is sometimes even more fun, so I like to spend my time doing that also.
It may not be a lot of skills but I'm flexible, hradworking IMHO and eager to learn new things! :)

Autres infos...

Aside of what I already mentioned in my skills department (music, dance, cooking...) I love to read and watch good movies. Nice and functional design furniture, architecture is also one of my interests. And if there's the possibility I ski/snowboard/skialp or swim and dive in the beautiful ocean.
