Hi, welcome to my profile!
I'm Jubilea, or Jubi, or Lea. I'm an adventurous human being with many artistic interests. I'm the happiest when wandering in the mountains, forests, hitchhiking, dancing, knitting in cozy indoors, learning new skills and crafts and when I'm part of a community that is trying to make this world a better place and creates spaces that nurture and nourish. I love challenging myself - and yet I find most beauty in the small and slow things in life, the cycle of nature, connection with nature and with people, and connections between nature and humans.
I'm an amateur photographer, poet and dancer. I like to learn from the land and native an indigenous wisdom. I am exploring paganism and I am interested in spirituality that is not fed by shame, guilt and does not take advantage of the vulnerable and goes beyond a binary thinking.
I like getting out of my comfort zone and learning new skills. I have lived most of my life in the city and spent all my free time trying to get out of it. I studied for 4 years in classrooms without really feeling like I'm learning something important for the life I want to lead.
Which is why I'm here on Workaway now. I would like to learn hands on skills and self-sufficiency, learn how to take care of the land so it nurtures me, learn to how build my own place to live and be self-subsistent and independent of the systems we live in and only subtract our skills and productivity without creating a community. If I have reach out to you, I believe you can help me on this journey and I would be honoured I could learn from you.

I'm currently traveling with my partner, but we keep our profiles separate because we also plan to travel solo.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

In higher education I have a bachelor degree from English literature and Film&Media Studies completed at at the University of Stirling in Scotland. I have basic experience with camera & sound work and many years of doing amateur photography, mainly landscape and documentary and some paid event and product photography.
My graduate project was in creative writing (in English) and I'm happy to provide my writing skills also.

I have experience working on a farm in Iceland, mainly with eiderdown. I also have gardening experience, from my job in the gardening department of the city of Reykjavík and volunteering at many different community gardens or off-grid permaculture crops (in Scotland at Scoraig and in Italy at Gaia Terra).
I also have experience with childcare, including working as an assistant for kids with special needs.

I am eager to learn new skills, especially in gardening, working with wood and building, fytotherapy, crafts, and many other... so as long as I have passion for the subject, I'm a quick and diligent worker, wanting to learn as effectively as I can. I have a positive attitude and I like to create a sense of community when working, rather than competition.
