Hello!

I am an environmentalist and lover of birds, food, and biodiversity. I studied Sustainability Management and worked in compost education as well as recycling and solid waste management in New York. Though I haven't had a Workaway account for that long, I have spent the better part of the last 8 years doing work-exchange volunteering around Latin America, with a particular affinity for forests and mountains. I am passionate about reducing waste / low-impact healthy living, learning about ecosystems, tasting new fruits, foraging/PANCs, syntropic agroforestry, and learning traditional "old ways" of doing things, especially as related to agriculture, food preparation, and food preservation.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I mainly help out on farms/gardens or other rural projects with an ecological focus. I know a fair amount about vegetable gardening, tree planting and pruning, and have some experience with construction. I also am skilled at vegetarian cooking, translating or interpreting between Spanish, Portuguese, and English, and office/computer work. I am increasingly interested in biodiversity and species identification using the app iNaturalist.

Always happy to teach about composting, or set up or improve systems for managing organic waste! Also always good to chat about the ecological impacts of different aspects of human civilization.

Other recent work experiences: working with rehabilitated parrots for reintroduction into the wild (Brazil), managing bird and wildlife observation lodges (Brazil and Ecuador).

I enjoy making fermented foods (sourdough bread, sauerkraut, ginger beer, yogurt), practicing guitar, singing, dancing, yoga, and can also play piano and ukulele. Newly into bird photography!

I sometimes have work requiring an internet connection.
