Description

We are Iona and Pearce, a French 27yo and Canadian 26yo! Iona has been on a working holiday visa in Canada since June 2023.

Iona's hometown is Bayonne, in the south west of France, near the Spanish border. It's stuck between the Atlantic ocean and the Pyrenees so we have the best of both worlds!

Pearce's hometown is Fort St John in Northern British Columbia, in the Peace region.

We met while Iona was working in a lodge near Fort St John. Since then, we traveled together around France and Spain as well as Western Canada and USA. We are lucky to have been accepted for a WHV in New Zealand for the upcoming year when her visa in Canada ends! We are open minded individuals on a path to self love, willing to learn everything that people have to offer.

Iona has been working since 18yo to be able to visit the countries of her dreams. Multitasking and change is something she craves. She has been a cook, waitress, retail worker, car renting employee, saleswoman, cleaning lady and manager. She lived in England for a year, volunteering for an NGO in Cornwall and loved it there.

Pearce has had jobs on and off since the age of 12. He has been working in the oil and gas industry in Canada for the past 7 years. Other than a few trips with family at a young age he has never had an opportunity to travel until this past year. He has found a love for traveling and is eager to continue experiencing new places and cultures.

She did video editing studies and loves art in all its forms really. Has a fond love for photography since she was a teenager and tries to document her travels through videos as much as she can. Loves music and reading as well.

He enjoys BMX and snowboarding and has recently picked up surfing during his trip with Iona to France in the summer of 2024. He has a passion for cars and loves music as well.

We are ready to learn, meet new people and see everything the world has to offer!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Iona can speak English, French and a bit of Spanish. She would love to learn a new language or teach some of her knowledge in the ones she speaks.
She studied audiovisual post production, especially video and sound editing. She can use editing softwares as well as a bit of Photoshop and Lightroom.
Working since 18yo in various work fields, she is always trying to learn new skills and expand her knowledge.
Iona worked as a cook and waitress and therefore learned to handle the pressure. She does not especially love it as a daily thing but it doesn't scare her.
Working in the car renting business and living in Canada and England volunteering for an NGO, she learned how to communicate in another language than her mother tongue in a professional environment. She is an independent being and usually a fast learner.

Pearce speaks English and is currently learning French.
He studied accounting for 2 years at Mount Royal University in Calgary.
He worked in retail while he was a teenager as well as at a design company that made signs/decals for businesses before going into the oil and gas industry.
He was a manual worker in the oil and gas industry as a valve technician. This gave him a good understanding of mechanics and experience as a trainer to new employees. Eventually he went on to being a oil and gas operator looking after several sites. This industry pushed him to become a logical individual and a problem solver.
Pearce enjoys working with his hands and manual labour of any form.
