Hello!
We are Harry, 29, and Georgia, 30, from Brighton, UK. We are travelling in Mexico between November and March. The last time we went travelling was various countries in Europe between 2014 and 2016 and we fell in love with Workaway!
Since then we have been working hard on our business, Vintents, collecting vintage canvas tents, fixing them up and taking them to festivals and events for glamping accommodation. This has been a labour of love and we have built it from the ground up to a succesful business, which employs 10-15 people in the summer season.
This involves working outdoors for long hours in a big team, cooking, eating and living communally for months on the road. It's an amazing escape from modern life as we live without electricity (some solar) and with basic facilities, living outside. We are both very hard working and reliable people who enjoy life and all it has to offer.
Now we finally have some time to travel, explore, find new projects, meet interesting people and experience a different culture. Workaway is the best way to do this!
About us:
Georgia: I love live music & dance. I travelled earlier this year for a holiday with friends for 3 weeks to the Yucatan Peninsula and spent 50% of my time dancing salsa to the local bands. Increible! I studied Spanish at college but really want to learn more, I am studying it in my spare time and would love to advance my level on this trip. So I'd love to do a workaway that involves speaking Spanish. I also love to sew and make clothes! Through Vintents I have learned so much on the sewing machine, but always learning! I absolutely love dogs & donkeys too.
Harry: I love to be in nature and one of my favourite hobbies in the UK is foraging mushrooms. This ties in with my love for cooking (and eating!) & fermenting. During covid I started importing organic olive oil, balsamic vinegar and natural wine from small projects in EU to sell in the UK. So alongside our glamping business, I have been incredibly busy! This all started because of a workaway in 2015 on an olive grove in Spain - it changed my life and I have remained friends and now business partner with our host! Anyway, I have some experience with natural building & stone masonry but I am not a carpenter. I worked for one year on an organic farm planting and picking vegetables. I am good with people and love providing 5* customer service to our glamping customers.
We are both music enthusiasts - Harry plays the guitar and trombone and Georgia plays the saxophone and enjoys swing dancing & salsa.

We have worked / volunteered on a variety of projects from eco building, permaculture, house sitting, renovation, english teaching, hostels & animal care.
Having run a very succesful hospitality business, we are very good with people.
Highly organised and experienced with many different aspects of working life.

Georgia is a highly skilled web developer.
Driving & towing trailers
Managing a team (but hopefully we won't be doing that at Workaway - we just want to help out, not take over!)
Basic DIY skills and confident with a range of power tools. Although I don't like using chainsaws too often (from Harry!) Neither of us are skilled or certified in a building trade but have lots of bits of experience.
Workaway (and other volunteer) experience:
Harry:
France 2012 - 2015 (twice a year) - helping my family renovate an old barn in rural france, mostly clearing land and knocking out walls and some working with lime and stone and making a limecrete floor.
Buenos Aires 2013 - 2 weeks assisting building a large shed
Buenos Aires 2013 - 3 weeks permaculture, eco building & cooking with a family
Georgia:
Spain 2015: 1 month - Childcare & teaching english
Sicily 2016: 1 month - Farm work & harvesting
Harry & Georgia (couple):
France 2015 - at my family's barn building a stone wall for 3 weeks!
Spain 2015 - 2 months - olive grove, harvesting veg, building dry stone wall, working with natural water irrigation systems.
Budapest 2015 - 3 months - managing two hotels (one each!) this included opening up and closing, managing the cash etc.
Italy 2016 - 6 weeks - working with goats, building a shed
Spain 2019 - 3 weeks - House sitting and painting
