Hi there, my name is Grace and I am from Manchester, United Kingdom.

For the past 10 years, I have been working in the field of environmental and social sustainability, which I am very passionate about (so much so that I recently started a PhD focusing on the topic!). Through my work, I have visited many countries, which has enabled me to meet many wonderful people and inspired me to keep on travelling.

When I am at home and not working / studying, I like to do yoga and pilates, walk my dog, read books, cook / bake and spend time with friends and family. I am a people-orientated person so the latter is very important to me!

I am new to Workaway but think the idea / concept is a great one, so really looking forward to becoming part of the community and meeting other like-minded souls. At the moment, I would very much like to connect with hosts in Greenland and Denmark, as these are places that my PhD research is related to. I would love to learn more about Greenlandic and Danish people, culture and language with the help of Workaway, whilst helping out future hosts as best I can.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am fluent in English with strong written and verbal communication skills; I would be very happy to share this around / help others improve their English as needed. At the same time I'm currently trying to teach myself Danish, and would love to practice that with native speakers in the future.

I am accustomed to being in the company of animals and children, having grown up with pets (e.g., cats and dogs) and spent quality time with my two nieces since they were born in the past eight years.

I love to cook / bake, and get positive feedback on what I make from friends and family, which hopefully means I am pretty good at it! I have also taken a leading role in decorating our home on a number of occasions, which has developed my preparation and painting abilities a lot.

Aside from the above, I am an open-minded and flexible person by nature, and I love to try new things. Through Workaway, I'd be very happy to give new tasks / jobs a go, depending on what help is needed at home!
