Hello/Kia Ora! My partner Gus (36) and I (27) are fun and enthusiastic individuals from New Zealand. We are both starting our first overseas experience in the UK. We both have a background working in the outdoors and are keen to get our hands dirty doing an honest day's work. Making new friends and enjoying the company of others is something we both enjoy. We always look forward to learning new skills and keep ourselves busy doing hobbies such as reading, doing yoga, swimming, hiking, surfing, food/culture, arts & music, and outdoor conservation. Gus and I bring a friendly and respectful attitude wherever we visit.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Georgia:
- Direct communication, learnt through working in the civil construction industry and organising time slots for material testing in adaptive conditions and time constraints.
- Able to work individually, learnt in pine tree planting work and conservation, in adverse environmental conditions. Practically minded with experience using hand tools.
- Able to work collaboratively, learnt through conservation work, often working in age groups from 18-70 year olds. Able to relate to people from all sorts of walks of life. I have also enjoying babysitting and working with new mums in a meet-and-greet group.
- 2+ years work experience in weed control and gardening.
- I have done some workaway experiences before, in orchards and also for a family self-building an eco house in remote New Zealand.
- Other previous volunteer experience as a rural firefighter and pest animal trapper.
- I also have a certificate in Beekeeping with 3 seasons done.
- Current NZ recognised Comprehensive First Aid, Chainsaw Operation.

Gus:
- Has extensive maritime experience, 15 years.
- Clear communication, learnt through experience as a Captain/Skipper: delegating tasks and planning multi-day trips.
- Interpersonal skills, learnt through work as a Senior Ranger in conservation for 4+ years, managing small crews and carrying out maintenance work in the bush.
- Mechanically minded with experience in earthworks, hiking trail building, use of light vehicles, and small heavy vehicles.
- Certificate in pre-trade Carpentry.
- Volunteer and work experience in pest animal trapping and monitoring.
- Extensive weed control work, gardening, can operate pretty much any tool.
- Current NZ recognised Comprehensive First Aid certificate, Chainsaw Operation, Operation of Wheels/Tracks/Rollers (Earthworks Machinery), and Certificate in Pest Management in New Zealand.

We both love to play card games, and Georgia particularly enjoys Sudokus. With an immense passion for outdoor conservation, we both love hiking and camping. We are sustainability-minded individuals who believe in upcycling, mending things rather than throwing them out, and doing our best to buy secondhand where possible. In our spare time we are often tinkering away at small projects whether it is sewing, stone carving or wood whittling.
Music is an interest of ours that also keeps us busy. We attend gigs as often as we can, and hope to make the most of what Europe has to offer!
