Hey I'm Fred! I'm from Montreal, Canada.

I am an easy going and curious person who's easily excited by new adventures and possibilities. In the past couple years, I've been traveling, studying environmental sciences, organic farming and carpentry, playing music and generally appreciating life and all the surprising moments and opportunities it brings us.

My intention for traveling, and life in general, is to learn as much as possible about the world, meet and get to know awesome and inspiring human beings and deepen my understanding of myself and the world through the lens of meaningful and authentic exchange....

...And also have some good fun throughout the whole thing!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm trained as a carpenter. I don't have a ton of knowledge in the field but I have taken on projects like decks, furniture, sheds, framing walls and floors, concrete forms etc. I built a hexagonal sleeping pod while workawaying and loved it, I would be keen to do more funky carpentry like that. I very much enjoy the mental/spatial challenge of building, I'm creative and have a logical, problem-solving approach to things. I am comfortable with power tools and have done some basic welding.

I've worked a lot with plants, be it on farms or in simple gardens. I worked as a professional gardener and had my own solo business for a few years. This is the field in which I have the most experience. I've also driven tractors (even took a course in school specifically for tractors!).

I love cooking with and for people, and sharing a tasty meal with friends after a hard day's work is priceless for me.

I very much enjoy playing music and fooling around on instruments. I will most likely always be up for jamming, playing songs and learning/teaching about music. I can show you the fundamentals of guitar, bass, ukulele, keys and music theory. I also have some basic knowledge of music production (including basic mixing and mastering) using the software Ableton Live. That also includes podcast and audio editing.

I am a native French speaker and am fluent in English (rusty at times but it gets better with a bit of practice ;) ). I can accompany you in your learning journey of either languages. I am also improving my Spanish (currently at B2-C1 level)

Volunteering has been a phenomenal learning experience for me as well as an amazing opportunity to exchange and learn more about alterntive and unconventional lifestyles. I have been very inspired by the work of people i've met, and am excited to discover more!
