こんにちは! 私の名前はEve(イブ )、オーストラリア出身の22歳です。私は建築の学士号を取得したばかりなので、日本についてもっと知りたいと思っています!

I am always wanting to learn new things and experience the world as it is, and spend all my free time dreaming of ways to travel and explore. After taking a gap year in 2022 and travelling with a one way ticket to New Zealand, I lived away from home for the first time and realised how fun and fulfilling it was to meet new people and learn new skills.

I love arts and crafts, and always want to learn new things. l especially love knitting, drawing, painting and pottery. I am looking to do a working holiday in Japan from May/June until the winter season. I have lots of experience in the service industry, and want to learn Japanese from locals!

With a background in architecture, my dream is to travel all around the world and learn about how different people live. From how they take off their shoes, to when they wake up, or how they like to sleep, these are all important things to me when considering food design. I believe space truly can change your life, and I wish to put myself in unique spaces that challenge and encourage growth.

I think happiness comes in small bits - I love the idea of komorebi 木漏れ日 and finding beauty in everyday life. I hope to be surrounded by nature as much as possible. My dog and cat also make me happy hehe

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My degree in architecture has given a really comprehensive set of skills that I hadn't expected! From obvious things like model making, drawing and designing, I have also learnt ways to problem solve, questioning briefs and graphic design. Public speaking is also a big part of presenting your ideas to turos and clients alike, and so have developed a sense of confidence when speaking to people.

I also have over 5 years experience in the service industry. I have worked in luxury fashion retail stores like Prada, and also in hospitality in Queenstown, New Zealand. I find service jobs really rewarding because I love hearing other peoples stories of how they came to be, and how our paths crossed.

I've also learnt the power of hard work, and find it very rewarding to put all my efforts into something and have the outcome be something I can be proud of. Living alone, I've become really quick and efficient at cleaning, housekeeping, maintaining living spaces and also gardening in our backyard in the hot Australian seasons.

I speak 2 languages - English and Mandarin. My background is Chinese, but I was born and raised in Australia. I have a degree in Architecture Design, and am very good with my hands. I can knit and make pottery. I also cook and am great at housekeeping while living abroad. Our family also has many pets, and currently I am taking of an 18 year old cat called Andy and a 2 year old corgi called Kiwi. They are my babies.

I am very interested in Japanese architecture, and am excited to stay in one.
I have done a ski season in New Zealand during my gap year and worked on the mountain called the Remarkables in Queenstown. I learnt how to snowboard and would love to experience the winter season in Japan. I have also just come back from 8 months in Europe where I studied architecture in Denmark, and visited more than 12 countries while travelling the continent.

In November 2024, I saw cheap flight tickets to Korea and Japan return for $700 AUD (¥70000) and fell in love with Japan within one week. I love the architecture, the people, the weather and the temples (and cats!) I decided that I needed to experience the country properly before I start working full time in the architecture industry.

I am so excited to come, and hope I get to meet many cool people and learn lots of Japanese!
