Hi there, I’m Evan, I'm 27, and I currently live on a tiny urban farm in the forests of Honolulu, Hawai'i. I've spent the last year living and learning (and cooking!) with the land - an experience that has only increased my love for the farm-to-table experience.

Between building out a custom van, participating in an off-grid artist living experiment, and residing on a 36 foot sailboat, I've realized that exploring alternative ways of housing gets me jazzed. I love talking shop about solar panels, creative wastewater solutions, tiny house design, nomadic life, sustainable communities, and - of course - gardening and all things plants.

Cooking is one of my therapies; one of the ways I calm myself is by experimenting in the kitchen (I like to pretend I'm on the Food Channel where they give you a mystery ingredient and trying to make something unique). I'd call myself an A- vegan (occasionally I'll throw in some cheese or an egg), but most of my meals are plant-based.

At my core, I'm a storyteller. Through a mix of art, computer science, and performance, most of my projects seek to bring out the realities of the human experience. I've worked on big movie productions as a lighting technical director, behind the mic as a podcast host, holding the camera as a wedding photographer, and on the page as an independent writer and journalist. While I am currently a software engineer during the day, I'm in the process of starting my own business as a journalist and independent filmmaker.

Intellectually, the subjects that get me going right now are urban planning and urban agriculture so I'd love to brainstorm. Just before covid, I graduated from MIT where I focused on designing deep-sea VR experiences.
