Hello! My name is Elsi, and I'm an Italian student in environmental sciences.
I'm a curious and optimistic girl, I get energy surrounding myself with people, but I also enjoy staying alone or in a chill environment. I think my friends would say I'm a very adaptable person: I truly find positive things in most of the situations, and I'm flexible enough to get happiness even outside of my comfort zone.
I like new challenges and discovering new things, and probably this is exactly why I'm here on workaway!
Moreover, I would also say that I'm an organised person, always trying to do my best in every situation.
Being really flexible and curious, means for me that I have many interests: I play piano, I like singing and music in general, I play tennis... As I said before, I like staying with people and have days full of activities, but I also enjoy slow life, reading, cooking and crocheting while watching tv.
Last but not least, of course, I'm really into the environmentalist cause. In some ways, I'm an idealist person enough to hope that one day I will be able to make a difference, and that the relationship between men and nature will change... but by now, I'm still trying to learn as many things as possible about the Earth's functioning, and doing some little steps trying to have a sustainable way of living.
I'm here on workaway, also because I feel that travelling is one of the most important things for me in this time of my life: I want to explore as many countries as possible, and get in touch with the most authentic parts of them, to escape the ordinary and feel free and independent.
I think my family really had an impact on this feeling that I have towards travels: my father comes from Czech Republic, and my mother is Italian, but they met while they were travelling around Europe, and they travelled together for a while before getting to live together in Milan. Also, Milan is a big city, full of energy and multicultural vibes, and it gave me so much in terms of mind-openness.
Cons of living in Milan, anyway, are that it's a pretty cahotic city, and through workaway I would also like to experiment a new way of living for me, more in touch with nature,
By now, unfortunately, I don't have much time to explore the world, because of university, except for the summer months. I'm now looking for a project for september!

I can teach Italian, my native language, and I'm really interested in improving Czech and also German, that I studied a bit in school but never had the chance to practice it. Besides this, I'm actually interested in all the languages!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I think I can define myself as really flexible, and fast at learning, so I can provide many help!
In the house, I really like cooking (vegetarian) meals! My parents appreciate my help in the kitchen when they get back home late from work...
Moreover, I can clean, tidy things and organize places.
In these years, I also experienced many jobs and activities with kids: I have been teaching tennis in a kindergarten, I was a volounteer in a summer camp in Estonia for teenagers, and I also do babysitting when I have the opportunity. So, any project involving kids would be great for me! I love staying around them, playing games and organizing activities for them, and I can also take care of them and make sure they have everything they need.
Moreover, I'm a creative person, so I could help in activities involving imagination and art.
I speak fluently english, but my native language is Italian, which I could teach you!
Even if I don't have many experiences, I would really like to apply and help in outdoor projects, like gardening and building. I'm a hardworker, I like being in touch with nature, and I think I will learn easily!
Lastly, I'm an environmental sciences' student, so I would be really interested in any activity related to sustainability and ecology!
