Hello hosts and Workawayers!

Although I’m Canadian I have been living in other countries for the past ten years and my passion for travel has not lessened! After living in Italy for 1.5 years, I left in January 2026 and I've been travelling ever since.

I love workaway as it allows me to combine my love for travel with my desire to collaborate with others to create, support, and grow communities. Travelling is a wonderful privilege that gives me the opportunity to learn about different cultures and expand my perspectives to include new and different ways to see the world. I am always open to listening and learning, as well as sharing my own experiences and knowledge with others. At the end of the day, all of us have more things that make us similar than make us different, and focusing on those similarities is what brings people together. I look forward to the adventures and opportunities that workaway will present!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I studied English literature in university and I have a TEFL certification. I've done Cambridge English exam prep at a private language school in Italy and I’ve also taught English online for 4 years.

During my most recent volunteer experience in Uganda, I facilitated leadership, team-building, and communication workshops with the staff. I also ran creative workshops with the children that focused on self-expression and confidence building. I have a MSc in Intermediality, which explores the use of different creative media (film, literature, poetry, painting, music, etc) and how they interact with one another. I used intermedial frameworks to structure these workshops and encourage creative thinking and problem solving.

I have a lot of experience working with children. I've taught children English in person and online, and I coached children aged 2 to 8 in soccer for 6 years in Canada. I also worked at a children's horseback riding camp for 5 summers, which gave me experience working with horses as well. While living in Mexico I coached soccer for children aged 6 to 13 (in Spanish).

Physically, I am a very active individual and I do a variety of sports and activities (soccer, volleyball, pole dance, yoga). Soccer is the sport I've played for 20 years, including on my university teams in Canada and Ireland.

I love reading, hiking, writing, and watching movies. My culinary skills are mediocre, but my eating skills are top notch. A perfect night for me includes good friends, laughter, a variety of snacks, music, dancing, and games (that will increase the laughter, preferably).
