Description

Hi, I’m Dominika.

I’m a photographer and filmmaker focused on documenting how people live alongside nature. I travel slowly, try to get to know the places I stay, and help out where I can. In 2023, I did Workaways in Jordan and Turkey. I’m currently back on the road, continuing to learn through work and connection.

Since graduating from the University of Cambridge in 2023, I’ve spent the past two years working with children and young people, travelling, and building experience as a photographer and filmmaker. I'm now focusing more on documentary work.

I was born in Canada, raised in Slovakia, studied in the UK, and I’m currently based in England. Living across different countries taught me to adapt quickly and stay curious. I want to keep learning, working, and meeting people wherever I go.

In my spare time I enjoy running, hiking, simply being active, being creative (drawing/painting etc), finding new music and good films and all that includes learning more about the world and of our place within it.

I am fluent in English and Slovak (both are my mother tongues) and would like to learn German better.

I enjoyed my stay at the camp. Khaled and his team were very hospitable and living in the desert for just under a week was a very unique experience. We were able to sleep outside under the stars and after work (mostly housekeeping/kitchen duty) had a lot of free time to explore both the red and white desert.
