Hi there!

We're David (27) and Denise (28), a German couple who love to adventure and exchange experiences. We've been exploring the world together for eight years. Currently, we're in Australia on a Working Holiday Visa (good until March 2024), and we're excited to meet local people and help with their projects!

👩🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻 Our Background 👩🏼‍🤝‍👨🏻

David is an Engineering graduate, and Denise studied Psychology at university. After working senior jobs for a few years (David in Sales, Denise creating content), we wanted a temporary change and work in manual jobs. We chose Australia for this new adventure, a country we've always dreamt of exploring!

🧑‍🌾 Volunteering Experience 🧑‍🌾

Denise used to help keep a yoga studio clean in Sydney. We've also house-sat and pet-sat in different countries. David has volunteered in Japan, where he cooked and helped a small community. Denise has worked as an Au Pair before.

🛠 Skills and Abilities 🛠

• Animals: We've enjoyed pet sitting in Sydney.
• Building: In our previous flats, we've built furniture and upgraded kitchens.
• Child Care: Denise was an Au Pair, and we've both helped kids with their school work.
• Cooking/Hospitality: We love to cook. David has even thought about starting his own café and gained kitchen experience in 2022.
• Gardening/Farming: Denise and David have helped in their parents' garden since they were kids.
• Yoga: Denise is a certified yoga teacher, keen to refine her teaching skills by giving classes.

🕗 Availability and Duration of Stay 🕗

Our journey across Australia is from March to October 2023. During this time, we're eager to take part in different projects. We can stay anywhere from a few days to three weeks.

🏋️‍♂️ Interests and Hobbies 🏋️‍♂️

We like being outdoors, doing things like hiking or playing beach tennis. We also enjoy running, cross-fit (David), lifting weights (both), and practising yoga (Denise). Plus, we love to cook and bake! Denise likes to sew and make things, while David enjoys fixing broken items around the house.

Even though our families and friends are far away, we cherish our relationships and love to connect with new people.

🗣️ Communication and Language Skills 🗣️

We're comfortable working in English and speak it on a proficient level. We are both native in German, and David, having Polish roots, also speaks Polish fluently.

🪪 Travel Insurance 🪪

We're fully insured for our stay, including health and public liability insurance.

💡 Good to Know 💡

We have our own car, but it's small, so we would need a place to stay. We've been living mainly vegan (David’s flexible) for six years and hope for understanding and acceptance of our dietary choices – we are open to people having their own diet. We like to connect on meaningful levels with other people. If you are looking for someone who enjoys small talk over a span of several weeks, then we’re probably not the right people! 😀
