Hello, my name is Cristián Federico Eitel Jiménez. I’m finishing my studies in Industrial Engineering and Transport Systems. I’m very interested in getting to know another culture, gaining experience outside of engineering, and connecting with different kinds of people. I live in Santiago, Chile — a city of about seven million inhabitants — but my family is from San Fernando, where we have a farm with large apple orchards and some animals, so I know both lifestyles quite well.
Between the ages of 17 and 18, I lived in Berlin, Germany, so I speak High German without much trouble (although I’d say my German is a bit more colloquial, while my English is more formal and academic). I’m very interested in discovering your culture, language, customs — and who knows, all the wonderful things that can be found by surprise.
Hallo, mein Name ist Cristián Federico Eitel Jiménez. Ich beende gerade mein Studium in Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen und Transportsystemen. Ich bin sehr daran interessiert, eine andere Kultur kennenzulernen, Erfahrungen außerhalb der Ingenieurwissenschaften zu sammeln und mit verschiedenen Menschen in Kontakt zu kommen. Ich lebe in Santiago de Chile, einer Stadt mit etwa sieben Millionen Einwohnern, aber meine Familie kommt aus San Fernando, wo wir einen Bauernhof mit großen Apfelplantagen und einigen Tieren haben – daher kenne ich beide Lebensstile sehr gut.
Zwischen meinem 17. und 18. Lebensjahr lebte ich in Berlin, Deutschland, daher spreche ich Hochdeutsch ohne größere Probleme (obwohl ich sagen würde, dass mein Deutsch etwas umgangssprachlicher ist, während mein Englisch eher formell und akademisch klingt). Ich bin sehr neugierig auf deine Kultur, Sprache und Bräuche – und wer weiß, welche schönen Dinge man dabei überraschend entdecken kann.
Hola, mi nombre es Cristián Federico Eitel Jiménez. Estoy finalizando mis estudios de Ingeniería Industrial y Sistemas de Transporte. Me motiva mucho la idea de conocer una nueva cultura, adquirir experiencias fuera del ámbito de la ingeniería y conectar con personas diferentes.
Vivo en Santiago de Chile, una ciudad con alrededor de siete millones de habitantes, aunque mi familia es de San Fernando, donde tenemos un campo con extensos manzanales y algunos animales. Por eso, estoy muy familiarizado tanto con la vida en la ciudad como con la del campo.
Entre los 17 y 18 años viví en Berlín, Alemania, por lo que hablo alemán estándar (Hochdeutsch) sin mayores dificultades, aunque diría que mi alemán es algo más coloquial, mientras que mi inglés tiene un tono más formal y académico. Estoy muy interesado en conocer tu cultura, tu idioma, tus costumbres y, quién sabe, todas las cosas maravillosas que pueden surgir de manera inesperada.

I speak German fluently, but in a more colloquial way, and I haven’t practiced it in quite some time. Additionally, I would like to learn Italian to reconnect with the roots of my family’s ancestry.

Lots of sports: I lift weights in the morning (I love strength training), go hiking in the afternoon and every week i like to play football.
In the evenings I get creative, I love mixing cocktails that tell stories, from Pisco Sour to Ramazzotti.
Culture: I listen to everything from folk music to techno to rock, etc. I enjoy poetry, films, and good conversations about politics or philosophy, the kind that really get under your skin.
