Description

My favourite thing is spending time being around animals - horses in particular. I have a horse of my own at home who I adore, along with many other pets such as dogs, cats, chickens, rabbits and a guinea pig. As well as animals, I have a strong passion for music, both writing and playing. I have been lead singer in a rock band in Birmingham for 6 years and play solo around bars and pubs across the UK. I love where I live but I have a desire to see the world, experience other cultures and find out more about myself, so I'm very excited to begin my Workaway experience!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have expertise in yard management and animal welfare. I have worked on the yard I keep my horse on since I was 13, mucking out, feeding, haying, turning out and riding. as well as this I have been responsible for the whole yard of 20 horses whilst the yard manager was away so am experienced in full time yard work. On top of this, I have worked several labouring jobs doing things such as collecting crops and making animal feeds. Working with animals (particularly horses) can be hard graft, so I have learnt to have a good work ethic, resilience and ability to get my hands dirty. Alongside this, I have been the frontman of a rock band since I was 14, therefore am confident talking to large groups, have ability to work in a team, work under pressure, communicate and manage and plan events.

I have a strong passion for helping and caring for animals, particularly horses. I am also very interested in English and literature - I love to read and write. As well as this, I have a passion for music, both writing my own, singing and occasionally playing guitar and ukulele. Most of all, I have an interest in travelling and seeing the world and other cultures.
