Hi! I’m Cherry, I've been traveling since graduating from university in 2023 and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon :) I prefer to stay in one place and get to know it well rather than moving around constantly. I have been lucky to have a wide-range of experiences from working at a scuba dive center to being a chef for a yoga meditation center that have taught me many tangible skills I can bring to the next community I join.

I believe that people make up a place. Everywhere I’ve been the nature is stunning, the food is delicious, and the culture is beautiful. The biggest thing for me that can make or break an experience are the people. I want to work with a family-style team of people I trust. I am looking for a community that values non-violence, honesty, and reciprocity and that is working towards a shared vision. This type of environment makes it easy to approach any task with love and good intentions. I strive to meet all situations with equanimity and help everywhere necessary with a positive attitude so that everything can run smoothly.

I’m comfortable in shared spaces and flexible in my roles. I value simple living and cleanliness. I am always eager to learn new skills and am quick to adapt to new situations. I approach every new experience with curiosity, compassion, and a willingness to learn. I look forward to connecting with like-minded individuals and contributing to a community that values intentional living, harmony with nature, personal growth, and shared responsibility.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I worked as a chef at a yoga meditation center, where I created healthy, delicious meals for retreat guests and yoga teacher training students. I accommodated a wide range of dietary needs and intolerances. We used clean, wholesome ingredients and valued creativity when it came to developing new recipes to minimize food waste.

I practice yoga regularly. I’m drawn to the integration of mind, body, and spirit through breathwork, movement, and meditation. Yoga has helped me cultivate mental clarity and a sense of peace, and I incorporate yogic principles like nonviolence, kindness, and simple living into my daily life.

I received my PADI Rescue Diver certification through a volunteer exchange in Italy. My tasks there included caring for equipment and filling tanks, accompanying clients on boat trips, taking underwater photos, providing informational briefings for new divers, and general office work. I have started my PADI Divemaster e-learning and would love to complete the full course.

I also have a deep love and respect for all animals. In the US, I was a foster parent through a local animal shelter and cared for kittens in various health conditions. I also volunteered for a service dog training program in the US where I learned a lot about dog psychology and behavior.

My educational background is in psychology and multicultural education. I have a lot of experience in classrooms, with curriculum development, working with children of different needs, and teaching non-native English speakers.

I love reading books from my never-ending list of recommendations, playing word games or solving sudokus, and walking around barefoot. I regularly bake birthday cakes for strangers and loved ones, I'm always ready for a swim, and I love playing with animals I encounter in the street.
I'm very excited to meet new people, learn about new cultures, try yummy foods, listen to lots of live music, and expand my ways of thinking!
