Hello!

I am Catarina, 24 years old, and I am looking for new adventures to decide what I want to become in life. :)

I have many passions: drawing and all art forms, languages (presently speaking three and learning the fourth), socializing (which also explains my love for languages and other cultures), and biology!

Besides, I am almost always listening to music, since I love vibrating with full albums on repeat. I am a friendly person, always looking to speak to new people, and I am also very loyal to my friendships, which I always appreciate and try to maintain.

Since I've done Erasmus, that I gained this passion for communicating with other internationals and having friends around the world. I am right now trying to build a career that will best align with my values, even though I confess to be a bit lost.

I genuinely believe that travelling is a great opportunity for us to discover ourselves, and that is the main reason I have decided to join workaway. I discovered a lot about myself when I went abroad, and I want to continue to do that, to build a future best aligned possible with my values.

My main goal in life is to help the world and humanity in the best way I can provide. Thus, I am now looking for answers in how to do that, being by contributing to social projects, helping in building a more sustainable planet, or contributing to art and cultural activities, which are crucial to mental health.

Furthermore, I would love to practice language exchange on the side!! ;)

I would love to get fluent in French! I have already a good level, I just need to practice it more with locals! Likewise, I also love teaching, and I am a native Portuguese, so I can provide language exchange. I also am fluent in English.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a sweet spot to teach, even though that is not my formation. I discovered that since I had to explain to other people, concepts I was familiar with. Presently, for example, I have an intern on my work, and it's great to be able to share my knowledge. Even when I was a little kid, in primary school, I remember I liked to teach a colleague of mine that had more difficulties in learning some of the subjects.

I absolutely love to draw, and appreciate as well any other art form. I am a creative person, and I can give a giant hand in helping to develop art projects (mainly drawing and painting).

Another of my passions is languages. I am happy if I'm learning a new one ;) I am native Portuguese, and I also speak English and professional French (which I am aiming to have a fluent level). I am now learning Dutch as well. My next target language, I want it to be Arabic (Moroccan or Egyptian dialects, I haven't decided it yet). Thus, adding my love for teaching and for languages, I can provide teaching Portuguese or English!

Finally, I would love to help on social projects, since I love helping people. And I also would love to help in sustainability projects. My current work is in investigation with plant tissue culture, helping propagate cork oak trees which are essential for my region. I am genuinely interested in learning about organic agriculture and all things related. In fact, I am looking to expand my knowledge in that area!

I can also provide in taking care of dogs or farm animals. Even though I don't have experience on that, I love animals and nature! My goal house in the future is to be close enough to big parks and mountains :)
