Hey there!
My name is Carina from California, USA and I have been living abroad for the last 2 years in Spain teaching English. My wanderlust began when I studied abroad in London during Univeristy, and I haven't been able to shake it off. Since then, I have traveled to over 15 countries in Europe and continue to find ways to travel whenever I can. Therefore, before heading back home to the US, I have decided to try Workaway for the summer :) I am looking to be a part of a community where we can work together or even at times independently.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I have some experience with Au Paring as I was with a family last year in the Canary Islands. I looked after a brother and sister that were 6 and 9, taking them to their lessons, being a part of their family and most importantly to help improve their English. It was a great experience being immersed with a Spanish family, and it has encouraged me to continue connecting with people from different cultures.
One of my passions is cooking. I used to want to be a chef growing up, but I've settled with cooking meals for family and friends when I can as it is a great way to bond. My parents are from Mexico so I enjoy sharing our traditional Mexican dishes and learning new recipes. Other than my cooking skills (which I have heard from friends and family that I am a good cook ;), I have some experience with gardening and canning since I used to do it back home in the summers with my sister. Other than that, I feel like I am an adaptable person, therefore I can complete simple tasks and also be willing to learn.

A bit about me; I am a social, open minded person who loves meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. I enjoy being around positive/humble people since it's what I strive to be even in difficult situations. I also like to stay active by going to the gym, hiking, and trying out new sports. The more time spent outdoors like at the beach or the lake is time well spent! I also love animals, especially dogs, so if there are any around they will become my best friend :)
