Hi, I’m Nike (short for Berenike) and I’m a 24 year old currently living in NZ.

I grew up in Germany until I was 18 and went on to do some travelling after finishing High School there. Although the original idea was to only take a gap year and then return to do some studying, I have now been "travelling"/living overseas for close to six years.
After spending over a year in Australia, I got to New Zealand and step by step fell in love with the country and built a life here.
However, it is time for me now to start some new ventures and discover what the rest of the world holds.
Travelling the Pacific Islands has been on my list for several years now and I’m super excited to finally get the chance to experience their culture and nature. I’m looking forward to get out of my comfort zone and encounter new challenges to build my skills, while living life to its fullest.

During my time in NZ I’ve had a lot of woofing gigs, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Anything from cleaning, gardening, farming, painting, DIY’s… you name it. What I most enjoyed about this is being immersed into the local life and the variety of constantly encountering new things.
My contracted employment has mostly been in hospitality, including waitressing, bartending, cooking and managing. I’ve also worked on a charter boat, for a woolbuyer and as a housekeeper. Happy to pass on numbers for references as well.

My hometown Göttingen is located in the middle of Germany and mostly known for its university, while reasonably well populated with 130.000 people.
My second home became Manapouri in New Zealand. A very small town in the southwest of NZ and as part of Fiordland only 2 1/2 hours away from world famous Milford Sound as well as the gateway to Doubtful Sound.

I’m a happy girl full of life and enthusiasm. I can be reserved at the start, but once I warm up, I can get quite chatty. My presence is very calm and relaxed and I go with the flow as best as I can. One of my biggest skills is being a fast and good learner and being super adaptable to new environments. While I believe life is there for us to experience, I’m an extremely hard worker and when committed will always give it my all.
I’ve been a vegetarian for half my life, trying to incorporate vegan meals more and more, but also trying wild game and fish on occasion.
I enjoy cooking and baking as well as eating healthy. Anything really I can create with my own hands gives me joy.
I love listening to music and going for walks/hikes. Sports I’m interested in include running, yoga, swimming and dancing. I’m keen on getting into surfing as well. At the same time I’m quite happy being cozy at home and spending time with a good book or my thoughts. But above all I value authentic connection. I can find beauty and inspiration in anything and strive for a satisfying and fulfilling lifestyle. One of my personal truths is, I can be happy anywhere, cause I will always have myself.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As I worked at a local cafe/bakery in Germany, I have experience at customer service, cleaning, working with machines and catering. This also was my first time working under an empoyment contract.
Last summer I volunteered at a festival in South Germany. It was a mixture of teamwork, self-responsibility and coping with different types of volunteers and visitors.

I enjoy doing art and crafts, such as working on projects with my sewing machine. Furthermore, I´m fascinated by fields like interior, restoring furniture and carpentering, but sadly don´t have much experience with that.

I´m playing the double bass for 8 years now.
At my hometown I did sports like Kung Fu, ballroom and latin dance.
