Hello! My name is Bekah. I am from Berkeley, California. For the past six years, I was working at a non-profit organization where I managed a program helping refugees in the U.S. Although this work was very important to me, I decided to explore life outside of the 9-5. Outside of my passion for social justice, I like to travel as much as possible to connect with new people, learn about other cultures and go outside of my comfort zone. I also love to play music, make pottery, dance, spend time outside and connect with family and friends.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am motivated to learn about farming and regenerative/self-sufficient practices because I am interested in exploring this lifestyle. I am excited to learn and collaborate with new people, and want to be as helpful as I can and share from my own life experiences as well. Currently, my skills are mostly centered around managing a non-profit program, working with survivors of violence and trauma, and art.

While I have spent most of my working life at an office job in the city, I have recently been volunteering at a project in Portugal helping with clearing, invasive species to regenerate a native forest, gardening, construction projects, etc. While I was in college I had a summer job planting trees in Canada and learned that I really enjoy working with the land, although I chose to focus on social justice and humanitarian projects during the following years.
