Hi all!
My name is Ava and I'm from the United States. I am passionate about agriculture, art, nature, mycology, and exploring and appreciating the world around me.

I am excited to learn new things, meet new people, and explore the wider world through Workaway! After spending the summer of 2022 on a teaching farm and the summer of 2025 on a berry farm, I am eager to gain more hands-on experience in regenerative and sustainable farming. I am ready to work hard, learn all I can, and contribute meaningfully to your project.

I find meaning through connection - whether that's my connection with nature or connecting with people around me. I feel most myself when I get to nurture my connection to the land and I love being surrounded by people who share that same love.

I am a social butterfly, empathetic, organized, conscientious, curious, and always ready to try something new.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I feel comfortable with hands-on and outdoor work including gardening, yard work and property upkeep. I love animals and I'm more than happy to assist with any and all animal care.
- l have experience caring for animals including dogs, cats, chickens, goats, pigs, rabbits and cows. This includes all associated chores like feeding, watering, mucking stalls, etcetera. I grew up caring for my neighbors cats and dogs and even had an animal care business. I also have managed a hobby farm that included forty farm animals.
- I am an avid gardener and consider myself to have a green thumb. In my professional life, I've managed a small greenhouse, I've done casual landscaping work for my neighbors, I worked for a botanical garden, and I did my first Workaway on an organic berry farm. In my personal life, I grew up surrounded by women who loved their gardens and I learned a lot from my Mom, Aunt, and Grandma. I also have an extensive houseplant collection.
- I have a bit of basic DIY experience. While I wouldn't say I'm proficient, given instruction, I would be happy to help out with DIY tasks.

I have extensive customer service and hospitality experience
- I am a people-person and I thrive on taking care of others. Most of my jobs have been customer-facing roles including being a barista, working at a farmers market stall, ice cream maker, guest services associate, etc. My first Workaway was on a berry farm that also welcomed Appalachian Trail Hikers and part of my job on the farm was making sure to welcome and greet the hikers.

I am very creative and I enjoy bringing this quality into everything I do.
- I love arts and crafts and I have experience in most mediums. I enjoy painting with watercolor and gouache and drawing with oil pastels. I also enjoy collage, papier mache, clay, and linocut print making.

I have years of experience working with children
- through both nannying and babysitting and also years of working at summer camps. I feel comfortable supporting children's daily routines including meal and bedtime. I am a patient, attentive, and reliable caregiver and I make sure to nurture children's creativity and sense of wonder. I am also CPR and Stop The Bleed certified.
