My life motto is 'Leave it better than you found it'. I'm passionate about turning moments into memories by approaching new experiences with a friendly energy, a proactive mind, and a smile!

Description

I believe in connection as the ultimate healer.

Whether that be connection through education: such as working at my local zoo to teach crowds of all ages on conservation efforts by leading interactive activities and engaging guests with games;

Connection through companionship: including volunteering at a social work non-profit for home-bound elderly by coordinating home visits and leading aerobic exercise classes;

Or even connection through coincidence: namely, stumbling upon a weekend market whilst traveling in Ireland, striking up conversation with one of the vendors over a shared interest in fiber arts, then spontaneously leading a crochet class for the local neighborhood children, and enjoying it so much that I happily returned every weekend thereafter to continue helping out;

I value my ability to influence the world around me and welcome any opportunity to uplift communities through connection and inclusion.
I am passionate about building relationships from a foundation of love - as I travel the world, I am eager to both meet and uplift people of diverse backgrounds.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

From October 2023 to October 2024, I lead a crochet club for my fellow colleagues while working in finance full-time:
- fostered community through bi-weekly meetings
- educated newcomers on the basics of crochet
- encouraged creativity through the medium of fiber arts
- recruited new members, welcomed them and integrated them into the group

From June 2020 to September 2020, I worked at New York University as a 'Welcome Week Leader' for a fully digital freshman orientation on Zoom:
- lead and planned social activities for groups of 20 people and more
- fostered a sense of belonging amongst students who were entering a new environment
- welcomed and encouraged connection between diverse groups of people
- initiated group conversations of up to 20 people at a time
- moderated group discussions
- introduced new people to each other
- catalyzed new friendships to begin amongst strangers.

For two summers (June 2017 - August 2017 and June 2018 - August 2018), I worked at the Queens Zoo in New York City, in partnership with the Wildlife Conservation Society:
- lead interactive educational games and activities
- entertained hundreds of guests of all ages daily
- maintained the attention of large audiences of up to 50 people at a time
- communicated important information about conservation efforts.
- ensured a both positive reputation for the establishment and customer satisfaction by giving directions, answering their general questions, escalating issues to those who could offer assistance, and satisfying various needs

From June - August 2016, I worked at a non-profit in New York City called 'DOROT':
- connected with home-bound elderly through regular home visits during which we had hour-long conversations
- assisted with various elders' technology, computers, and phones
- helped with daily activities such as delivering groceries and cooking meals
- lead and planned weekly aerobics exercise classes for a group of 10-20 elderly people

In my free time, I enjoy film photography and post my photography work on my art account (instagram: @limerentvoid). I also enjoy creating crochet clothing pieces and stuffed animals for my loved ones, junk journaling, and writing poetic prose.

From September 12th 2025 to October 30th 2025, I have a period of free time during which I am eager to work at a hostel, house-sit, help out with general cleaning duties for a family, or engage/assist in creative activities with a local artist!
