Hello!
My name is Annabell, I am a 23 year old from Germany. After my graduation from highschool in 2021 I took a year to go volunteering with rescue animals in different places in Europe (Portugal, Spain, Bulgaria and Greece). It was an intense time, I got deeply involved and learned a lot from animal care to construction work and team management. In that time I decided that I want to dedicate my energy into my passion and love for animals and in 2022 I started studying Animal Protection and Welfare and graduated with a Bachelor in summer 2025. Another passion of mine is travelling and learning new things and I am always grateful for any opportunity to do so.
I am also interested in connecting deeper with nature and learning to live in harmony with the earth.

I usually travel with my small dog (I wrote a little more about him below, you can also see him in my pictures) BUT CURRENTLY HE IS NOT JOINING.

I am openminded, hard-working and passionate about the things I love and I really hope, I will get the chance to share that with you. I am not scared to get my hands dirty, I am used to live on only the necessary and am quite adaptive.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My speciality is work with animals and any kind of work related to working, managing and running a farm or animal shelter. I am aware that every establishment runs on different routines and principles and I am able to adapt to those well (I am always happy to share advise from what I learned in my past experiences if that is desired). The experience I have from past volunteering, studying Animals and working in a shelter includes anything from Veterinary Care, animal handling, biology, husbandry, resource management, construction work and physical work (carrying heavy weights, cleaning pastures/kennels,...) up to team management (I manage the host workaway page and upcoming volunteers for one of the shelters I worked at), social media and any planning/organising work.

I have also experience in working with children or adults. I am able to work in a team but also very well autonomically.

I am very interested about learning more about autonomic/off-grid living, gardening and life in a community.

I have some basic knowledge in construction work but my knowledge is more based on finding creative and spontaneous solutions for problems rather than on professional techniques, meaning I will be able to fix a fence for good or build a kennel from scratch but it will possibly look like DIY haha. I would say I am definitely creative and solution orientated.

I learned to handle a grinder, how to do body filling on a car and how to weld. I also worked with building, using clay and concrete but there is room for improvement.

I am a fast learner, pay attention and take initiative. I would say I use my mind to work effectively and to the best of my abilities. If something is still unclear I am not scared to ask in order to perform any task correctly.

I am a semi good cook (i will leave that to you to judge). I worked in hospitality and catering and I also worked for NGOs and on stage in the opera as an extra.

I am grateful for any opportunity to obtain a new skill and am a good and motivated student! :))

I am crazy about animals and life of all kind, in general I worship the wonders of our beautiful nature.
I have a fascination and endless admiration for nature and the phenomenons and miracles this earth has to offer.
I love to think and talk about the big questions of existing, I am openminded and would love to learn about other people´s perspective on life and to learn and get inspired by their insights. I do not judge, my principles are always based on compassion and kindness.
I meditate daily as I find it a wonderful tool for handling life and anything that might come along with it.
I love stories and movies and I am obsessed with music.
I taught myself to play the Ukulele and Kalimba.
I also love fitness. In general I enjoy movement and being on fresh air, hiking in nature or just being outdoors with my lovely dog.
Since I decided to eat vegan, I spent a lot of time learning new dishes and by now I really enjoy cooking and baking (If you want, I will cook for you ^^)
I used to help with organising freetime activities for children which also gives me a lot of joy.

I might be shy and quiet in the beginning when I warm up to a place but with time I open up more and more.

And about my dog Jimmy: He has Leishmania and lost his nose to the disease but is not threat to other animals and gets medication. He is very nice, calm and gets along with any animals. He is a small elderly rescue from Greece, I assume he is a Kokoni-Pekingese mix, but I dont know.
