Description
Hi!
My name is Amelia, I’m 23 years old and I’m from Poland. After finishing my first studies - Scandinavian Studies and Norwegian Language done in Poland and my second studies - Outdoor Studies and Leadership done in Norway, I’ve started working in a family owned travel business. In high season I guide groups in Kraków, the city I’m from and where I currently live in. During low season I work less and remotely, mostly responding to emails and dealing with logistics. This allows me to be very flexible, have more time for travelling and experiencing new things.
I always try to find a way to get out and love to be outside. I feel like at home when I’m in mountainous, on a trail or more off road, with a tent and all necessities to live outside for a week or two. Summer and winter, I love both. I have experience in canoeing, sailing, cross country skiing, sea kayaking and bouldering. Additionally, I was a stand up paddle board instructor for two years, when I lived by the sea. I definitely would call myself outdoorsy and adventurous.
When I can, I help my parents in their garden, I do anything from grass mowing, weeding, harvesting fruits and vegetables and taking care of trees. I sometimes fix some things, I’ve painted many walls in my life and even built a wooden stool from scratch. I love wood carving as well.
My biggest love of my life has always been horses. I’ve started riding when I was 8 years old and I’ve been riding ever since, with some shorter breaks in between.
During my studies in Norway, I gained a lot of experience with Icelandic horses as I was riding trails and working there as well. I was trusted with taking care of whole herd, this means feeding, cleaning turnouts and stables, checking horses’ wellness, grooming. I took part in some other stable activities, such as open days for kids where I took care of both horses and kids aged 6-12.
I have a drivers licence and I’m comfortable driving both in my home country and abroad, I don’t have any dietary restrictions.
I’m very hardworking and always happy to help. Challenges don’t really scare me, I’m always trying to find a possibility to learn something new. It’s very important for me to be communicative and open to new perspectives, ideas and people. One day I had decided to say „yes” more often to new opportunities and that’s why I’m here now :). -
