Description
Hey! My name is Alicia, I’m 19 years old and from Germany. I love to travel, so I left my home over a year ago to live and work in different countries. I did volunteer work on different farms in Canada which included tasks like animal care (horses, dogs, cats, sheep, chicken), roofing, fencing, weeding, pruning, housework, attending farmers markets and supporting the family business. Before coming to Australia I stayed on farms in New Zealand, mainly training the (young) horses and taking care of other farm animals. In Australia I already did mustering on bikes, drafting and some work in the garden. I mainly worked in customer service in various fields and countries (hotel, cafe, bar, retail in Germany, NZ and Australia) and I’m always happy to learn new things.
I’m an experienced rider (16 years riding + 10 years vaulting), I love being around horses, working with them, I’m confident handling all kinds of horses and I’m always keen to learn more about how people train them. What I liked about volunteering the most was how many friends I made that from all over the world, the atmosphere and becoming part of a family, I’m still in contact with some of the hosts I visited!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I did volunteer work on different farms in Canada, New Zealand and Australia. I’m an experienced horse rider (16 years of experience + 10 years vaulting), so a lot of the work involved horses - training horses of all ages, feeding, grooming, mucking out and general care taking. I’m confident handling and riding all kind of horses. I also took care of other farm animals such as dogs, cats, sheep, cattle, goats and chicken. Work also included general farm tasks, fencing, roofing, working in the household, weeding, pruning and cooking (vegetarian only though - I have no idea how to make any meat since I don’t eat it but I have a few really nice veggie recipes and I’m always happy to share them!). Generally speaking I like to learn and I think I’m a quick leaner so always keen to jump in and help wherever it’s needed. I have a international drivers license and I’m confident driving a quad bike, a side-by-side and any car.
