Hi there!

I hope you are doing well.

My name is Abdullah, and I am going through a somewhat nomadic phase of life after working in London and sitting in front of a screen for around three years (My work was with the United Nations and related to Climate Change). Now, I just want to keep walking (literally or metaphorically) and see where things go.

I like being close to nature/earth/plants, music, poetry, walking/hiking, and keeping my body in motion as much as possible (on that note, I also hiked and camped across Switzerland this summer in about three weeks - to get my body and spirit moving). I also have an academic side, so I like to keep learning about whatever questions come up.

I am 29 years old and originally from Pakistan, where I lived till my undergraduate. After that, I went to US for a master's program in 2019 and then eventually from there to the UK for work.

Via workaway, I am looking forward to finding work in which my body can be in action, I can be close to the earth, and live in a quiet and natural rhythm of life (so, gardening, farm stay, animal care, house maintenance and projects, etc. would be great). I also value having community/family and sharing meals and eating together when that's possible - but I'm fairly comfortable with being on my own when that's there.

When time permits, I'm usually found wondering, walking, resting in a green/natural place, listening/ practicing music, and learning about different things.

Since June this year, I have spent most of my time in the EU and then traveling to Turkey by land from there, and then visiting Pakistan, and now my plan is to spend time in Americas (Canada and Mexico primarily). I also have a lot of family in Canada, so I like the idea of being close to them and visiting them every now and then (and seeing if I would like to settle there in the long term - as all of my siblings and parents have Canadian residence).

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am physically fit, thankfully, so hopefully I should be fine to do most types of physical work (gardening, cleaning, DIY, etc.).

I have worked in the hopsitality and tourism space for some time, so working on campsites, hostels, etc. comes easily and naturally.

But I am happy and willing to learn all types of skills and work (farming, sheparding, carpentry, building houses, etc).

Also happy with language exchange and taking care of pets/house.
