Hello! We are two friends from England (Izzy & Aaminah) looking to explore the world together.


IZZY:

A little about myself:
What brings me the greatest happiness is the simple pleasure of experiencing life. I’m very spontaneous and i like trying all kind of news things. Whether that’s making things for daily life out of natural materials i can find around me, or going for impromptu adventures in the spur of the moment, painting, sewing, crafting and experiencing. I have worked as an outdoor instructor for the past 2 years which has been an incredible experience, teaching people how to surf/ rock climb / abseil and so many more activities . My ideal day would be waking up in a tent for a sunrise walk, followed by the beach, surfing/ paddleboarding/ snorkelling (any & all the water sports!) and painting. I don't know where life might take me but i try my best to live happily and wholly - thats what brings me joy ! I'm on Workaway because I'd like to add to these experiences and also continue to grow myself as an artist. Most of all, i want to experience many adventures with people from all across the globe - Life is an adventure , art is how you channel it.


AAMINAH:

Hello :)! I'm aaminah, a 21 year old from England. I have some experience travelling and I'm on workaway because I want to continue my adventures.
I love the world. I love the freedom of sleeping every day, somewhere new. Its inspiring for my brain and soul. I feel like there is much in the world that I can learn from to shape me into a more self-sufficient person and that is one of my goals. I am always interested in learning new skills and developing myself - a lot of my interests gear towards the outdoor world, like camping and climbing but I also enjoy involving myself in my art (painting, drawing, poetry, guitar);
I have a very curious mind so this list is always being added to.
I love experiencing new communities, my heart is wide and it wants to encounter much.
I look forward to being hosted by you :))

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

IZZY:
Skills & Experiences:

- As my main love is the sea, i have experience Lifeguarding, paddle-boarding, cold-water swimming and i also hold a PSI qualification
- I’ve worked as an activity instructor for children and young adults and have learnt how to deal with all kinds of situations involving young people - how to engage them and challenge them
- I have experience bartending
- I have helped run art classes before
- Painter, muralist, crafter; i have a lot of experience in this as art is my passion, and.i am currently trying to base my life around my art.

AAMINAH:
Experience:

- outdoor activity instructor: I have experience leading, and planning activities like abseiling, outdoor climbing, zip-wire, survival and others. I've spent much time managing children and young adults of all backgrounds, helping them challenge themselves and have a good time. It also means that I am accustomed to working in all weather conditions and long hours (I worked from 8am to 9pm). So, im no stranger to hard work.


- backpacking Morocco for 6 months. I volunteered at a village in the desert to help renovate a kasbah (traditional moroccan house). I learnt how to make mud-bricks and many other interesting things about the desert and Moroccan culture as I travelled around the country.


- I have some experience making things, like a table and benches. And renovating, having carried out small repairs to kayaks. But I'm still learning in this aspect and am by no means an expert. However I want to keep learning and gaining more competency.


- Cooking, I love making nutritious and hearty meals. I know South Asian cuisine, can make any variation of pasta (very tasty ones), and am currently dabbling in Japanese cuisine.



Interests & Hobbies:

- I paint, draw, and make art using all kinds of mediums around me. Whether that's jellyfish out of pipe-cleaners or art-work out of treated leaves from the autumn trees. I love creating from the things around me. I'm currently trying to improve my understanding of colour for painting.

- I also love making things from scratch, like Curl creams from flaxseed, using hydrosols and absolutes for skin care and so on. I'm currently learning how to sew and knit.I just think its very cool to utilise the things in the world around us. I very much aspire towards the idea of being self-sufficient. Its a lifestyle I want to live more and more.

- Wild camping and adventuring. I have to be careful not spend my money on more things to "improve" my capabilites as a hiker, camper, and adventurer. I LOVE IT.  I am also currently very interested in mountaineering after having read a few books. This is a skill that I'm slowly interested in pursuing.

- TRAVELLING AND SAILING. I want to learn to sail. More than that however.. I want to learn the art of wooden boat building. That is definitely a priority of mine.

- I play the guitar, I teach myself whenenever I have the opportunity. If I were to learn a type of guitar playing, it would be flamenco. I find it very beautiful and exciting.
