Hello! I’m Yuri from Hiroshima, Japan.
I'm a friendly and curious traveler who's been exploring Japan for the past three years, staying with locals and learning from their ways of life. I'm passionate about building a lifestyle that’s kind to people, animals, and the planet — with the dream of becoming self-sufficient in the next five years.

I'm now looking for hosts who are already living sustainably and would welcome a helping hand. I’d love to support your daily life while learning from your values, rhythms, and the beautiful environment you’re part of.

I used to do freelance work online, but I'm currently taking a break to focus on my travel and volunteer journey.

【 What can I offer in return?】

-Cooking (including Japanese dishes!)

-General household chores like cleaning, laundry, and organizing

Special treat:
I’m from Hiroshima and can cook Hiroshima-style Okonomiyaki — a layered savory pancake with cabbage, noodles, egg, and more. I’d love to make it for you!

I'm reliable, proactive, and enjoy working in a relaxed but focused atmosphere. I’m also a good listener and quick learner — so I’m happy to follow your ways and adapt as needed.

【My story & why I love slow travel】
It's been three years since I began traveling around Japan, staying with friends, local communities, and guesthouses. My motto is:
“Find my own hygge” — the little things that make life feel warm, safe, and meaningful.

What makes me happiest are three simple things:

1. Spending time in nature –
lakes, rivers, the sea... I love relaxing outdoors, eating simple meals, reading, or just feeling the breeze.

2.Sharing moments with others –
Cooking and chatting around the table always warms my heart.

3.Offering my skills to help others –
I’ve stayed with friends for up to two weeks, and in return I cooked, cleaned, played with their children, and helped however I could.

They often told me things like:
“We wish you stayed longer.”
“Your meals brought so much joy.”
“Our kids will miss you a lot.”

Those words reminded me how beautiful it is to share what I’m good at — not just to give, but to co-create joyful everyday moments together.

My dream is to have my own farm, grow organic vegetables, fruits and rice and live a self-sufficient life. When my friends come to my house, I would like to serve them food from my farm and have meals and chatting with them over the table.
