Hi! I'm Ylva, a german potato who is incredible curious about the world!

I'm currently studying sustainability econnomics, but whenever I can, I like to step away from my desk and into the real world and of course get my hands dirty after all the theoretical input.

What motivates me are a lot of questions about life. I'm fascinated by different cultures, ways of living, and people's stories. I love long conversations, sharing meals, exchanging ideas, and seeing the world through someone else's perspective. I believe every place has something to teach if you're willing to be open.
Friends would probably describe me as warm, reliable, easy-going, and enthusiastic. I enjoy being part of a community (made this my beautiful home which I share with 6 people) and naturally enjoy bringing people together or creating a welcoming atmosphere. I'm flexible, happy to learn new skills, and genuinely find joy in many different little situations and surroundings.

I´m very new in this Workaway adventures, which makes me even more excited. I'm looking forward to learning, exploring, meeting inspiring people, and contributing wherever I can.

oh french, why are you so hard to learn.. hoping to get a bit used to daily little talks in french as my duolingo tells me how to say my sister is mean, but I´ll do an Erasmus in France next year.. so not too helpfull (I hope)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I've always enjoyed trying new things and learning by doing, which has led me to all kinds of different experiences.

Growing up in a small town surrounded by nature and horses, I became comfortable with practical work from an early age. Over the years I've fed cows, helped build a treehouse, looked after kittens, worked as an au pair in London, gained experience in hospitality, volunteered in Africa and now work as a research assistant for one of my university professors. I've also worked in project management and brand consulting, where I developed strong organisational and communication skills.

I enjoy working with my hands just as much as working with people. Whether it's gardening, cooking, painting, helping around the house, caring for animals, or supporting a project wherever an extra pair of hands is needed, I'm always happy to learn and adapt.

One of my favourite "skills" is asking questions. My curiosity has taken me to many different places and conversations, and I love learning from the people I meet. At home, I live in a shared house with six other people, where I've somehow become the unofficial "feel-good manager".
