Hi, I am Lena, a 20 year old German with a passion for travel.

I am a creative person who never turns down a challenge. I love to learn and see new things and would be happy to help with whatever is needed!

I graduated from high school in 2022 and after that I went to Ghana for 11 months, where I did the weltwärts Program with AFS. I have been working for the NGO Maven Heart, which supports less priviliged children and their families, but also stands up for our environment.

Now that I am back in Germany, I prepared myself for studying. But ˋtill I start, I would love to meet new people, share stories and gain new experiences together with you and my best friend Clara.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I love being creative, being outside, going to hike or simply reeding a book. But I also love playing my instruments (piano an the recorder), swimming, playing card or board games and having good conversations :) I enjoy to be around people!

In my time in Ghana, I had the chance to do creative workshops in schools with children different age. We danced, we played, we sang, we drew, we painted, we fold and we did experiments. I also did some fundraising and social media work. In the last months, I organised a program called save the soil together with two other volunteers. We taught at different schools about soil and its role on our planet. Connected to that the schools had to do create an artwork and an essay connected to the topic for a competition at our Save the Soil event.

Aside that, I am part of a local nonprofit organisation engaging for the protection of our environment. We look after the landscape of various nature reserves to protect endangered plants and animal species. My help there includes building nesting boxes, ringing and tagging birds to better understand their behaviour and keeping areas clear so that endangered plant populations can recover.

I also have some experience in DIY. For example, I've already painted a few walls, sanded and varnished wood, built a wooden lamp and built a stone bed for plants.

I would love to learn something about sustainable farming. I learn fast and if you give me a task, I will figure out how to complete it, even if I have never done it before.
