I'm certainly not a grave digger but it's quite difficult to find a recent photo of myself... in the autumn of 2025 I constructed a root cellar for storing my crops in winter. It was a success, even now in the 40C heatwave it's still 16C down in the cellar and my potatoes and yams are still firm and fresh.

My garden near Budapest is almost 3000 m2 in size and I've been trying to plant annual and perennial plants since I bought it in 2012. There is no water and electricity in my plot so I had a deep water well dug and also constructed a small stand-alone solar system by myself to power the water pumps and other electrical equipment.

My original profession is in electronics but I'm adept in other areas, too. A handyman and a do-it-yourselfer used to physical labour but quite capable of using my brain as well.

Family status:
Happily merried with wife and two daughters (16 and 20) in Budapest, Hungary.

Work:
I just closed down my business in spring 2026 which had been active in the last 25 years. Currently I'm enjoying that my phone only rings when friends or family members wish to contact me. I'm keeping a looong break before deciding what to do next.

My aim with workaway:
Now that I have time, I wish to improve the languages which I learnt. Italian is the most neglected among them. While travelling, my most memorable experiences happened during my contact with the locals, this is what I'm longing to revive.

Lavoro:
Ho appena chiuso nella primavera del 2026 la mia attività, che è stata attiva negli ultimi 25 anni. Al momento mi sto godendo il fatto che il mio telefono squilli solo quando gli amici o i membri della famiglia vogliono contattarmi. Mi sto prendendo una luuunga pausa prima di decidere cosa fare dopo.

Il mio obiettivo con Workaway:
Ora che ho tempo, desidero migliorare le lingue che ho studiato. L'italiano è la più trascurata tra queste. Durante i miei viaggi, le esperienze più memorabili sono avvenute proprio grazie al contatto con la gente del posto, ed è questo ciò che desidero ardentemente rivivere.

Since 2001 I have had a small online business selling mostly photovoltaic system components. If interested, take a look at https://panelectron-shop.hu - my business closed down this spring, soon the website will be inactive, too. I can be of help in electrical installations, I am also handy at repairing things which were supposed to be thrown out long time ago (my wife is not always happy about this skill though :))

I am a strong person, capable of doing hard manual labour but I am also apt to fix my computer as I am my own IT specialist in my online venture.
I have some plots of land which I tried to organize according to the principles of permaculture so I am confortable with plants and gardening too, I suppose.

I was raised in the countryside, I used to repair my own motorbike/car, laid tiles for the corridor floor, I consider myself a kind of a handyman, a jolly joker really :)

I enjoy reading, hiking, jogging, a good movie, good music, doing any physical exercise outdoors and most importantly: learning new things and skills. I used to sing and play the guitar but this is a dormant activity for now. I walk or use public transport whereever I can and leave my car at home. We try to use as little plastic as we can at home, I can recognize edible wild plants, I've read many books about permaculture and planted many chestnut and walnut trees and bushes with edible berries in my land using the principles of permaculture. I'm curious and open minded, tolerant towards all cultures, religions, race or sexuality.
