Howdy! We're Mel and Will, a couple of Aussies currently taking a year to travel across Europe, some of Asia, and Northern Africa. So far we've visited Japan, Thailand, and bought a campervan in the UK which we've been travelling in through Europe and Morocco.

We've been on the road for quite a while now, and we're hoping to get more involved with local communities and have some deeper cultural exchanges, getting a better insight into local life.

We met during our first year of university where we both studied Zoology and Ecology, and have been glued at the hip ever since. We've worked in a range of biology-centered roles, from researching how bacteria in mosquitoes can fight the spread of dengue, to trapping and tagging platypus in the Australian bush. We're very nature-centric, hence our professions and study, and love sharing/hearing all things nature and wildlife. Mel has quite a bit of gardening experience from her time working in an agricultural biocontrol lab, and Will is quite handy on the tools, and always willing to give new things a go.

Mel grew up in the country, and Will was born and raised in Melbourne where we both lived together for the past 8 years and love it. We spend most of our spare time on the beach or in the bush with friends, hiking and camping, but we can still appreciate city life every now and then. We both love the outdoors, spending time with friends, board games, and a cheeky bush doof (Aussie music festival) every so often. Will loves running, surfing, swimming, and birding, and Mel enjoys cooking, arts and crafts (particularly crochet at the moment), and beers.

We also love to travel (obviously!) and have found the connections with people on our travels so far to be extremely important and memorable to us. We're hoping to offer our help through Workaway in exchange for an insight into life in your area.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We're both ecologists by trade and studied at university for 4 years to get our degrees. We love all things nature and find a lot of our environmental knowledge pretty transferable across a range of different landscapes

Mel is extremely crafty with particular prowess in crochet, gardening and cooking. I worked in agricultural biocontrol so have a pretty good handle on pest ID and gardening basics.

Will is pretty handy with a healthy curiosity for how to take apart a put back together just about everything we own. I much prefer to fix or clean something than purchase anew, even if it's well past work out.
