Description
We are not wired to sit around; having completed all the renovation projects ourselves on our character home, we would genuinely enjoy helping you with your projects. We're in good shape, and also enjoy hiking, cycling, photography and learning about new areas and cultures. We focus on the positive aspects of the country and people wherever we go.

Janet's background is architectural drafting, interior design and decoration; mine is in aviation. We both switched careers and taught English around the world. Our bank account has hever been huge, but our lives have been rich. We're now settled (joke) in Canada working during our summer. We are also with TrustedHouseSitters and volunteer with C.K. Animal Rescue, Neighbourlink and Wraparound.

Steve and Janet were a tremendous help to us and very pleasant company. We had not long returned from a 4 month trip overseas so hadn't quite sorted out kitchen, garden etc. They jumped in with enthusiasm and skill in taming the garden, turning all the compost, helping with meals, shredding documents for us etc. The garden is looking amazing now… read more

An enjoyable, manageable and rewarding workaway! Ashburton was not originally on our list of places to stay, but we're glad we did; a tidy little town with a great domain, and access to mountain lakes and stoney Pacific beaches. Steve and Janet were great company. Janet did an awesome job helping me with the backing for the local A&P show. We did well with our baking as well ❤️. While I was away for work they looked after my wee house, dogs and chooks. Janet reorganised my linen cupboard for me and they both did a great job painting the outside of the house. Getting a slice of Kiwi rural life, and Lyn's hospitality was great! Lucking in to be in Omakau for the annual A & P show was a bonus, especially since we got to help prepare, then sample, all the award-winning baking! Lyn's generosity, and easy-going- no-stress- welcoming manner was a delight; we happily helped out with some projects for three… read more

We enjoyed our experience with Dante, Sol and Ayelin near Lago Puelo, and appreciate being included in their family for two weeks. Our projects included building a 4-vehicle carport, 3 sets of outdoor steps, and the foundation of an 8m log bridge over a creek on their property.
