Description
Hi! I am Viktoriia and I just graduated from Ball State University with degrees in Finance and Business Analytics. I currently work as an analyst at the Indy Airport! I have a few months left before I start my big full-time job, so I am taking this time as an opportunity to finally try volunteering through Workaway and adventure through the U.S.! I want to keep on learning new things about myself, learn precious stories and knowledge from other human beings, and leave with unforgettable memories.
I came to the U.S. from Ukraine almost 5 years ago as an exchange student. Because of full-scale invasion, I was not able to come back and had to carve out my own path in the U.S. I am experienced living with a host family/hosts as I have done that for 2 years. I believe that if you truly want something to happen, then only you can do it. Otherwise it is not getting done. This motto has pushed me through life as I navigated life as a refugee, while all of my family is still back home.
I have diverse experience of volunteering with 150+ hours registered. I have done stuff from working tickets in a vintage movie theater, tutoring English, or pulling weeds out and doing landscaping work. Even if it is something I have never heard of before or never tried, I will always jump in! Being able to be alive, have dreams, have a roof over your head, and talk to people is such a blessing that I am eternally grateful for. Thus, it is so so important to give back (plus it is so fun too :)).
Some other fun things about me - I love animals, especially birds and especially parrots. My hobbies are drawing, gaming, dancing, and doing spontaneous side quests. I have always been a person that wanted to try everything and I see myself having various career paths or jobs in the future. I have already worked in tech, government, non-profits, education, and I am just getting started!
It is important for me to have a host that is LGBTQ+ and migrant friendly. -
