Hi!!! We are Leonie (18) and Vanessa (19), two friends from Saxony, Germany. We both just graduated highschool, by finishing our Abitur, and decided to take some time to discover new places, meet different people and learn outside of the classroom before starting our new journey at university. Workaway feels like the perfect opportunity for us to do exactly that, travel, exchange and at the same time contribute with our energy and skills.

We have decided to spend our time in italy. We have both been there on holiday before and completely fell in love with the culure and the atmosphere. For us, italy feels almost like a second home and we would love the chance to return in a way that allows us to get to know the country more deeply and from a different perspective.

We have been close friends since 5th grade and have shared many great experiences over the years. What has always connected us is our creativity, our motivation and joy of trying out new things side by side. We both took part in our theater club at school, which gave us the chance to work as a team and to build confidence in new situations. Beyond that, we enjoy being active together, whether its cooking, traveling or simple taking on new challenges. We are both open-mindet, willing to adapt and happy to put energy into work and projects where we can really contribute.

We have both been working part time at the supermarket to save up for our adventure. Vanessa has already been working there for 2 years, while finishing school and Leonie recently joined as well. This job has taught us how to deal with busy and stressful situations and to stay reliable and organized.

In our everyday lifes we also take responsibility for younger siblings. We both have little brothers who are much younger than us, so looking after children has always been a part of our lifes. On top of that we both love animals and are comfortable around them .

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We are both creative and love DIY projects, cooking and baking, and helping out in the garden. Leonie has experience renovating and decorating spaces, including painting and furnishing, while
Vanessa has helped with bigger garden projects, like rebuilding a
garden house, and enjoys outdoor activities such as skiing and hiking, so she can also assist as a guide. We are comfortable looking after children and animals, as Vanessa has a dog and we both have younger siblings. We are organized and enjoy planning events, having coordinated and designed our own prom night, including the full program. Our part-time work in a supermarket
has taught us problem-solving, teamwork, and how to stay calm and efficient even during busy or stressful situations.
