Description
Hi! My name is Valy and I feel very excited and grateful to be here! My philosophy in life is to be open and curious to ideas, adventures and possibilities! Things might take us different places in life and that's not always easy to handle, but I believe that there are so many things out there to challenge, develop and improve!
I love travelling and connecting with different people, as I feel like that's an amazing way to learn and grow! There's nothing I enjoy more than the anticipation of going somewhere new and feeling outside of my comfort zone - I feel like I can give so much to others, and indeed I'm a giver. I love connecting deeply and having interesting conversations about life and the world (with all age groups!). I am really into meditation, spirituality, self-development, psychology, spending time in nature (hiking, walking, swimming, canoeing, sailing), and generally learning about the world and working for something that has a positive impact on other people's lives. Further, I'm always really considerate of mental and physical wellbeing, and it is my aspiration in life to impove wellbeing in the world, whatever that might entail. For this reason, I have been a passionate volunteer for different causes, such as working at a summer camp for kids for 6 years, coordinating and running personal development programmes for young people, working with organisations for the homeless and teaching Maths and English to refugees. Alongside with my job, I worked part-time for a few years as a Maths and Physics tutor, and at university as a teaching assistant.
I would be open to teach about neurodiversity, philosophy and spirituality, meditation, English or Maths as well as some dance routines - happy to experiment with anything and contribute in mutually beneficial ways!
My travel experiences include travelling across Europe for youth programmes (such as European Youth Parliament), having interrailed solo across Europe, and recently done a road trip in Chile, and have all completely changed my outlook on the world. I have realised that everything changes and so do the way we think, feel and experience life. There's a big world out there waiting to be explored and I can't wait to be part of it!!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
- Education & Work -
I have a strong passion for education and advocacy, and really enjoy learning and development. I did the International Baccalaureate at school, where I worked on modules such as Business Management, Theory of Knowledge and English Literature and Language. At university, I studied electrical and electronic engineering at university, and I'm currently working as an electrical engineer in a Building Services consultancy. Therefore, I have a good understanding of the electrical and mechanical components of buildings, sustainability and renewable energy technologies (such as solar panels, heat pumps and EV chargers). Additionally, I have worked part-time as a Maths and Physics tutor to kids aged 6-17 (in groups or on a 1-1 basis), which has really sparked my passion for education and being around young people. At university, I also worked as an undergraduate teaching assistant, guiding young students in their courses and activities.
- Mental Health & Emotional Intelligence -
One of my passions in life is mental health, and especially removing the stigma around mental health. I really enjoy research about thoughts and emotions, and how to better understand human behaviour.
- Group Dynamics & Leadership -
Having participated in numerous youth conferences across Europe, I have experienced both leading a group and being part of it. I really enjoy observing people and understanding their thoughts and emotions, and then working to ensure everyone is feeling safe and having a good experience. I have also led different groups, such as working in teams in school and university, being responsible for different events and programmes, leading youth groups as part of a summer camp and being a team leader of young kids for many years. I love leading groups and really giving my energy and passion to a good cause.
- Respect, Collaboration, Communication -
One of the most important things in life for me is clear, precise and open communication. I am always open to receiving and giving feedback, and I really believe that being respectful and honest is crucial to enjoying everything in life. I try to reflect that in everything I do.

Autres infos...
One topic that sits in my heart is neurodiversity. I am more than happy to work alongside neurodivergent adults, as one myself, and share experiences and approaches to life!
