Description
Hi, I’m Tommy and I’m new to workaway. Recently, I finished my physics degree at the University of Bath, and now I am travelling as much as possible to learn from different cultures/from those with differing points of view.
My aim is to avoid having any regrets regarding taking advantage of my youth and I believe it is important to go off the beaten path rather than getting stuck in the ‘rat race’.
I am a very curious person and can take a lot of things in my stride. I enjoy various forms of exercise including Brazilian jiu jitsu and running, and I like to try out other things too.
I have a good level of Spanish which has naturally improved a lot after spending 5 months doing workaways in Spanish speaking countries. I would like to explore other languages/cultures also.
Finally, I would find it to be very rewarding to offer my time and efforts to those who might need a helping hand!

I would like to continue to develop my Spanish and understanding of the language and its differences between countries. Other languages also interest me. I enjoyed learning some Arabic during my time in Morocco. I would like to pursue a TEFL program at some point.

I am a very good learner. I am up for any task (unless it’s to do with great heights!) and consider myself to be a capable person, both mentally and physically.
For example, I am by no means talented when it comes to physics, but still managed to obtain a degree in the subject through very hard work.
I am not a tradesman but can assist and learn quickly to carry out basic tasks.
If you need help gardening, building, etc. I’ll do my best and get stuck in 100%!

On the day Tommy and Anika were due to arrive there was a train strike. We were in touch throughout the day as they slowly progressed in our direction but then, unfortunately, with one cancellation after another, they had to give in and find somewhere to stay for the night. Despite the fact that the sea turtle nesting activity was low due to the season, Tommy was always engaged and eager to assist in any possible way.
